A Stormy Night: by Stalfos333, gaidenisnear, Shiek, zanyzora
A flash of light illuminated
the night sky, and startled the waylaid traveler. The pounding rain greatly
increased the already enormous risk involved in this cloaked man’s quest by not
allowing him to hear someone approach from behind. He quickly looked from side
to side, and spied any number of shadows deep enough to hide a man. If only the
one he sought was as near as the fear in the his own heart, the hooded fellow
thought. But of course the one he sought prided himself on staying hidden, and
seldom left any clue to his whereabouts. It was only by luck that the cloaked
man had even found the drunk in the bar. Had the drunkard not began talking so
loudly, Blind might never be found. Yet, despite the huge amount of luck involved,
the cloaked man couldn't help but think that it was way too easy to find Blind,
a man so elusive that the castle guards hadn't found him even after years
of searching. The odd sense of being watched hit the cloaked man again, yet when
he looked around no one could be seen. The man in the green hooded cloak couldn't
help but wonder if Blind was setting him up by sending him to such a deserted
place as this alley.
Snap!!! A stick broken to the cloaked man’s left
resonated in the narrow alleyway. Quickly, the cloaked man turned toward the sound,
hoping for more of a clue as to it's maker's identity. Was it made by one
of Blind's thieves, or merely one of the hoard of rats which plagued the city's
seamier side? While slowly walking toward the source of the sound, the enshrouded
figure couldn’t help but to wonder if He was walking into a trap. Already,
a figure could be seen shaking in the shadows, yet couldn't be separated from
the darkness yet. With the enshrouded man getting ever closer, the figure in the
shadows stopped shaking and turned to face the young man in the cloak.
Flash!!!
Another bolt of lightning lit up the alleyway, and showed him that
the thing in the shadows was nothing more than an simple octorok, yet still
it looked strange to the cloaked man. It had weird bumps all over it's green skin,
an abnormal color in itself, and seemed somewhat larger than a normal octorok.
Yet weirdest of all were it's eyes, a bright red rather than the customary
green, and set deeper into it’s mishapen skull than was normal. As the thunder
crashed across the night the odd octorok reared back, ready to launch a rock. Yet
the man had a shield and easily put it up in time to block the octorok's frenzied
shot. The octorok spat out it's projectile, and rather than a stone, a metal
ball emerged. With a crash to rival the thunder the steel ball hit the cloaked
man's shield, dented it severely, and knocked the him onto his back. Before
he could get back to his feet, the octorok had launched another. Struggling to
deflect the ball with his shield, the man rolled onto his side and put his shield
into the path of the missile. Leaving a clang louder than the first and a shield
split in two, the steel sphere sent the man rolling down the alley and into
a stone wall.
Laying down against the wall, the cloaked man realized
that the octorok was about to fire another of it’s natural projectiles.
Quickly,
he rolled out of the way of the spinning ball and was rattled
by the impact it had on the wall.Luckily, a portion of the wall fell right in
front of him, and in a way provided a temporary shelter. He could hear the beast
venturing closer for another shot.
The cloaked figure rolled away
as another shot destroyed the chunk of wall. Another shot was fired. The figure
rolled again but this time grabbed a fallen brick, he threw it skillfully at the
beast's mouth. It wedged it self inside as the Octorok's mouth as it fired another
shot. The Octorok froze, aware of what had just happened, in another split
second the Octorok exploded in a volley of green blood and metal balls. The
figure stood up and the last metal ball hit the top of his cloak and knocked of
the hood, the man was revealed.....
He stood about 6 feet tall with
cold green eyes, and whitish blonde hair. His face had proof that he was once
handsome, but now it was torn by battle scars.
He now took off his cloak.
It had been torn in battle and was useless. He wore a black tunic, with white
leggings and a white shirt.
He crept back into the shadows. Staying close
to the building side, he made his way out of the alley. He dashed for another
alley, and continued down that one. Blind was close the man could feel it.
"Well
so glad to join me, Taror." Said Blind's voice from in the darkness.
"Do
you have what is rightfully mine. Don't play games about this. Where is it."
Taror said.
"Oh you mean that crystal, why do you need it so badly......"
Blind
reached into the deep folds of his cloak and brought forth
the large crystal. It glowed faintly with an unearthly light. He sneered, "is
this what you seek?" Taror tensed as he laid eyes on the Crystal he had fought
so long and hard to acquire. Nayru's Stone! It was his most prized possession,
a gift from the Goddess herself, given only to the bravest of heroes. And now it
was in the hands of this common thief!
All at once, the Stone began to
glow more brightly. The alley became illuminated with silver-blue light. The stone
pulsed and burned with an inner fire. Blind gasped as it seared his hand with
an intense heat. He tried to drop it but could not. The stone had a life of
it's own, it consumed his energy, sapped him of his strength. He fell to the ground,
writhing in pain.
The stone coninued it's awul torture upon Blind,
while the stone lifted itself upwards and hoavered right above Taror's hands.
"The stone won't hurt me but the wrath from the stone will be taken out
on you for a while." Taror said.
After he said this two poes appeared out
of nowhere. The laugh evilly as they closed in around Blind, spinning there
laterns viciously.
"You haven't seen last of me, Taror. I'll aquire the other
two crystals. Then i'll be the ruler.... no..no...noooooooooooooooo!" Blind
screamed. The poes closed in around him and cast a shadow over Blind. He disappeared,
now left in the hands of two horrid poes.
"Blind," said Taror speaking
to himself,"I don't think even you can find a way out of this one, let alone
get the Rock of Din, and the Gem of Farore." He took the stone hoovering over
his hands back out of the alley into a courtyard.
"Do you think you could
get rid of me that easy! And with two Poes. Ha! You underestimated me again Taror.
Your foolish youg mind will be the death of you. You forget Poes can't be
trusted. They have given me an awesome power. Far over yours." sneered Blind's
voice from the court.
Above Taror towered a man hoovering in the air, it
was Blind.....
