The
Legend of Zelda: The Past Revealed: by Darkman
X
"MUAHAHAHAHA!!" The laugh of the witch
could be heard for miles around the
land of Hyrule. The witch was plotting against
Link and all of the royal
family to take over the throne and put Hyrule
under her evil rule. As her
laugh echoed throughout the once beautiful land
of Hyrule, Link is awaken by
the dreadful, yet mournful, laugh of the evil
witch. Link rushed out to the
field as quick as he could, as if he knew what
was about to happen. As he
reached the field, he stood agast, as a black
cloud formed over Hyrule
castle town. The land shook as, what seemed to be
a dark demon, came
bellowing out of the cloud, spewing flame and
fire all throughout the town.
"OH NO!!" yelled he, watching in total
horror at what the creature was
doing, and at the same time wondering in fear at
what it could do if it
wasn't stopped soon. He called fourth Epona, his
faithful and trusty stead,
but she was too scared to go any closer than a
few hundred yards. Link leapt
down off of his horse and ran as fast as he could
toward the town, but it
was too late. The town was reduced to rubble, and
all of its citizens, the
few that were alive, reduced to poverty in mear
seconds. Link ran around in
panic. He could hear voices coming from beneath
the rubble..but who? He
searched frantically to find the whereabouts of
the plees for help. He found
them inside an abandoned building in the back
alley. "Thank you, kind sir!"
said a man, who, as of his young age, looked
rather familiar. He offered the
man a helping hand in finding his grandchildren,
who were trapped somewhere
in the building. The young man found them in the
most peculiar place: inside
the floorboards. Link grabbed them hand in hand
and put them on his back.
The man led the way out. Just as they escapped
the burning inferno of wood
and cloth, the house collapsed. "Let me look
for more survivors," the man
said, motioning to his kids to get out of the
town,"and you work on getting
the fire put out." Link slaved, running back
and fourth to the stream
surrounding the castle walls. The he realized he
could use his ice arrow.
With that thought in mind, he whiped out his bow
and powered up some arrows
with ice magic, wich Link had plenty of. He got
done in about 3 days, then
he went to find the man. "Any luck?"
asked Link, huffing and puffing with
exhaustion. The man paused. "Unfortunatly,
no. Me and my sons are the only
surivivors." replied the man, looking down
towards the ground in
disapointment. "Uh, may I ask a
question?" Link wanted some answers.
"Sure,"
replied the man, "ask away."
"Alright. You were here when the creature
attacked. What happened? Was there anyone else
involved?" link said with
rushing words. "The monster was summoned by
an evil witch named Christen.
She said some things about her wanting revenge
for what happened to her son.
She blamed it on the King. Then she screamed
'I'LL KILL YOU ALL!' and then
chanted some very strange, yet creepy
hymns." the man paused a bit, then he
spoke again. "It sent chills down my
spine." "OK, where does this witch
live?" Link yet again said in rushed words.
"I....don't know..but she
headed off in the direction of Death Mountain.
Maybe you can find her
there." "Thank you!!" Link said as
he ran off towards the mountain. Then he
stopped. "WAIT!! I never got your
name!!" Yelled link. "Jericana,"
the man
replied, "my name is Jericana."
"Thank you, Jericana!!! I HOPE WE MEET
AGAIN!!!"
Link reached Kakariko Village early in the
morning. "Strange.." Link
thought to himself, "Kakariko was
untouched...very strange." Link, being the
Hero of Time, still had to rest. He took shelter
in an old abandoned house.
He dreamed of what the witch Christen was doing
and what the King could have
done to her son. The only way for him to find
that out was to search for
her.
Link awoke the next morning to find a giant
spider hanging above his head.
Startled, he sprang up and unsheathed his mighty
blade, then slowly put it
back as the spider spoke to him. "How can a
spider speak?" pondered Link in
his mind, "Well, thats another thing I'll
need to find out." The spider
spoke again. "Who are you? What do you want?
Why are you here?" Link stood
in silence trying to grasp what was happening.
"ANSWER ME YOU INSOLENT
FOOL!" screamed the spider, and Link leapt
backwards and once again
unsheathed his mighty blade. "I SAID
ANSWER!!" screamed the spider yet
again. Link, stepped backwards slwoly, then
turned around and ran out of the
house. "What the hack was that? Was it a
spider or a human? Whatever it was,
I'm not going back in there." Link looked
around Kakariko for any people
that might know the whereabouts of the witch. He
found a young boy, cold and
shivering, who said he saw where the witch had
gone and that, in fact, the
witch had taken him there. Link listenede to his
story ad found out that he
was captured by the witch and had barely escaped
from her last knight. Then
Link asked him where the witch lives. He replied
in one word: crater.
"Crater?" Link thought. "He must
mean Death Mountain crater." Link rushed
up the mountain towards the crater. He took a
short stop at the Goron
Village along the way. "HEY!!! IT'S THE
DODONGO BUSTER FROM THE OTHER WEEK!"
All the Gorons rushed towards Link, scaring the
living daylights out of him.
"STOOOOP!!" Link yelled, wildly
motioning with his hands for them to stop.
They all halted immediatly. "Thank
you." Link said in a sigh of relief. "I
am here for some supplies. I am headed towards
the crater in search of a
witch, and am in need of some bombs and one of
your heat-resistant tunics."
All of a sudden, the gaggle of Gorons parted into
a narrow path, and from
that path came the great Darunia, king of the
Gorons. "Welcome, Link, to our
humble abode once again. We are happy to see you.
Please, follow me." Link
followed the great king to his chambers.
"Well, well, well. What is it that
you need?" asked Darunia. "I need some
bombs and a heat-resistant tunic."
replied Link. Darunia then summoned his men, who
arried a great big box of
bombs. "You may take as much as you need. It
is free, a token of our
appreciation." "Thank you very much. I
am ever so greatful." "No need to
thank us...you deserve it." Link picked up
some bombs and stuffed them is
his bomb bag. He then took a tunic. "I must
go now." Link said as he put his
bomb bag back behind his sheild. "Please,
come again, friend Link." Darunia
shook Links hand and Link departed after saying
good bye to all of his
friends.
Link reached the crater at sundown, and took a
few seconds to admire the
scenery. Taking a deap breath, he turned around
and entered the crater, with
his new tunic on. He searched around, trying to
find a place that looked
like someone was there. He found it inside the
fire temple. He noticed that
the temple was different.....much different.
"What the...?" Link was
astonished at how quickly he got lost. It seemed
as if he would enter one
door, turn around, and exit the same way he came
in, he was in a totally
different place then where he originally entered
the room. "This might take
a while....if only Navi was still here..."
As he said that, he heard a voce.
"Hey!! Listen!!" It was Navi the fairy.
Link turned around and was scared by
Navi, and fell into a lava pool. "You're
lucky that I am wearing a tunic
that won't let me burn..." Link said through
his teeth, glaring at Navi.
"Well, we need to get going now, so come
along." Link waved to Navi,
motioning her to follow. Navi was a good
friend...a bit daft in the
head....but a good friend. Link slaved for hours
trying to figure out the
temple, a tedious task it was. He found out that
if you go into one room,
then exit from the same door, you will be
transported to a completely
different part of the temple. "This could be
helpful," Link thought in his
mind, "but the only problem is when to use
this."
Link eventually found his way to a room with no
exit. As he tried to leave,
bars blocked his path, and a giant dragon fell
from the ceiling. Link turned
around and whipped out his sword. "NAVI!!
WHAT THE HECK IS THAT THING!!"
Link screamed, desperatly trying to slash the
dragon with his sword. "It is
a dragon...its name is..." Navi paused.
"His name is Dagoonagaten. He is a
fire breathing dragon with a VERY bad
temper." Navi's insightful information
gave Link a clue on how to beat it:with ice and
water. "Great. Now, can you
tell me how to kill it?" Link said while
dodging the dragons teeth and fire.
"Let me think.." "Hurry up, Navi.
I ain't got all day you know!" Link was
getting antsy, as he was dodging this dragons
attacks for twenty-five
minutes. "OK, OK...I've got it. I hope you
have bombs with you, because
you're gonna need them. There are five holes in
the floor. Put a bomb in
each of the holes in the proper order. Then when
they all eventually
explode, if you put them in the right order, he
should stop moving. Hit him
with an ice arrow to stun him, then hit him with
your sword to inflict
damage." Navi's explanation worked, untill
it evolved. "Now what, Navi?"
Link was frightened by the towering figure in
front of him. "Do the exact
same thing. He is almost dead, he is just
stronger and faster and he doesn't
stay stunned as long." This made link feel
Like rejoycing, but intead he
tried even harder than before. He defeated the
monster after hours of
battle. Suddenly the floor opened up and healing
faries came out. He took
advantage of this and healed. He also caought
some for later need. Then a
chest materalized, and Link found a magic rod
inside of it. He thought it to
be useful and kept it.
Link rode up the elavator rock into a passageway
that seemed endless. He
ran down it, easily defeating the redeads and
stalfos knights and lizalfos
that confronted him. At the end of the hallway
was a door with a lock on it.
"Oh great," Link thought, "this is
gonna be fun." Wait!!" Navi
interrupted.
"Use the Lense of Truth! Maybe there is a
hidden hole in the wall." "Thats
not such a bad idea.." Link then reached
into his supplies and took out the
Lense of Truth, looked around, and found a hidded
door. He went inside and
was unexpectedly challenged to a ten to one fight
against stalfos knnights.
Link defeated them easily, and yet again a chest
materialized. This time it
held a really big key. "This looks like it
will fit into the lock on that
door out there." Link went back and was
about to open the door when he
realized what would happen. He then used the
Lense of Truth and found
another door right next to it that went to the
same area. He arrived in the
hallway again and put the key into the lock. He
turned it, and the door
slowly swung open. "What coulb be inside
there?" Link pondered. "The only
way to find out is to look."
he entered the room and saw the witch.
"HEHEHEHEHE! So nice of you to join
me, Link. I've been waiting for you." The
witch, as old as she may have
been, was gorgeous, to Link anyway. She had long
black hair that looked like
silk. She had brown eyes that chilled Link to the
bone. "How did you know I
was coming?" Link asked in anger, drawing
his sword and clenching his other
fist tightly. "Heh..you didn't know?
HEHEHE!! I'll tell you. I saw you in
this." She heald up a mirror, and it showed
Link running around the temple
and fighting the dragon. "HEHEHEHE!! Now you
know, and now you must die!! I
hope you're ready to fight. I have..brought an
old friend back from the
original temple. You know it well, as you had to
rescue those worthless
Gorons from it." "You...didn't! No,
it's not possible!!" Link was afraid,
very afraid, for e knew what he was going to have
to do all over again.
"That's right! I have brought Volvagia, the
dragon for whom this temple was
built for, back ti life." Christen then
chanted some phrases and hymns, and
then the ground violently shook. "Hehehe. I
have also taken the liberty of
enhancing the power and speed of this
creature." Christen then disappeared.
Volvagia then broke out ot a pedastle, and shot
lightning quick around the
room. "OH NO!!" Link screamed, pulling
out his megaton hammer. He awaited
Volvagias appearance and smashed his head with
the hammer, but nothing
happened. "WHAAAAT!!?? NAVI, WHAT THE HECK
DO I DO NOW!?" "I have no
idea....wait! Remember that magic rod? Try using
that on him and see what
happens." Link pulled out the rod and fired
it at the rabid snake-like
monster. It stunned the great monster, and Link
was able to smash him with
the megaton hammer.
After he defeated him, Christen appeared again.
"Well done, Link. You have
truly mastered the art of battle. Now let's see
how good you do against
another one of your past enemies." In the
blink of an eye, Link was standing
in the water temple, and he saw Jericana being
stalked by monsters. He ran
up to his friend and destroyed them with a single
strike. "Thank you,
friend. You have my eternal grattitude."
Links friend, being a smart and
powerful magician, told Link of his dilemma. His
children were captered by a
nucleous-like monster. "Oh no..." Link
said to himself, "not again." Link
promised he'd get his kids back from the evil
fiend Morpha. Link showed him
out, and then yurned back to take care of
buisiness.
Link noticed that the temple was not altered this
time, and she had left
the lair of Morpha unlocked. Link climbed up onto
the platform and opened
the door. Link stood in horror as five Morphas
appeared out of the wate. "OH
MY LORD!!" Links screamed in total horror.
"Christen must have brought
Morpha back to life several times!!" Link
went along and found that they
could be destroyed the same way as the original.
He battled for days trying
to end the life of all five Morphas. He was
tossed about as he fired his
longshot into the core of one of the mighty
opponents and then be thrown
across the room by another one of the monsters.
He finally defeated them,
and then he returned Jericanas children to their
father. "Thank you, Link. I
am forever in your debt. Please, take this."
He handed Link a sword, and a
large one at that. "This sword is four times
as strong as your sword, but
too large to be carried in one hand. "Thank
you, my friend. I will keep this
in my possesion forever."
As Jericanna and his children walked away,
Christen appeared. "Well, well,
well. What do we have here? You defeated all of
the enemies that I brought
back. But, you cannot defeat me." The witch
glared at Link. "O yeah? Try
me." Link challenged Christen to a battle.
"Fine. It is done." Christen
transported both of them to a field. "Hah.
Now we'll see who can't defeat
who." Link unsheated his new sword.
"Very well then. The fght is on." They
stood there, staring each other down, waiting for
the other to move. Link
charged at Christen, attempting to stab her with
his new sword. She dodged
it and laughed at Link. "HAHAHAHA!! You
actually think you can beat me that
way? HAH!! Try again." The witch continued
to laugh. "Navi," Link whispered,
"what do I do to beat her?" "Wait
utill she shoots magic at you. Dodge it,
and run up to her and slash her with the master
sword." "WHAT!? I can't use
my new sword?" "No, it makes you too
slow. You have to be at close range to
attack her." Link put his new blade away and
unsheathed his Master sword.
"HAH! You choose to give up so quickly? Then
I shall kill you roght now!!"
She charged at Link, shooting magic at him in
rapid fire. He put up his
shield and deflected the bolts of magic. She
paused, regaining her strength.
She then approached Link, and stood in his face.
She raised her hand and
prepared to smash Link. Just as she was about to
strike, Link stabbed her
in the stomach. "Whaaat!?" She fell to
her knees. "I...can't....believe
this...." She tried to stand up, but
collapsed again. "Hmph..." Link held up
his sword and prepared to strike, but stopped
when Christen called out his
name. "Link....*cough*....I....need
to.....tell you something...*cough*"
Link stood over witch. "Make it quick."
Link said, holding the sword above
her head.
"Link......I.....am............your................mother."
Link
threw his sword down and held her in his arms.
"M-mother??" Link stuttered,
completely overcome with emotion. "Why
didn't you tell me?"
"I'm.......sorry.......Link..."
"NOOOOOO!!" screamed Link as his very
own
mother died in his arms. "How could let this
happen....HOW!?" Link then
stood up and pointed his sword at himself.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING, LINK?! YOU
CAN'T JUST LET IT ALL END THAT WAY!! WHAT ABOUT
ME? WHAT ABOUT THE OTHERS?
YOU JUST CAN'T LEAVE US ALL BEHIND!"
"You're right, Navi," Link said after a
long pause, "I cant just leave you all here
bye yourselves." Link paused.
"Let's go, Navi." Link stood up and
Navi followed behind. "Wait!" Navi said
suddenly. "What is it?" asked Link.
"Nothing. I just wanted to see if you
were paying attention.'' Link rolled his eyes at
her and laughed.
"Whatever...let's just go." With that
said, the two partners walked away
from the death site of Links mother and went back
to Kokiri Forest.
