The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule's Nightmare by gangrel_90
CHAPTER 1
Days after defeating Ganondwarf in the epic battle that took place in
The Ocarina of Time; Link is taking a nice comfortable nap in the comfort of his
house in the Kokori Forest. Link dreams of Hyrule, now a wonderful, peaceful
land, thanks to his heroic efforts. Little does he know, he is destined
to embark on yet another adventure, in a matter of seconds...
*Knock
Knock* Link is awakened by a knock on his door. “Who is it....?” asks Link in
a rather sleepy voice. “It’s me Mido, we need your help, and fast!” “I’ll be right
there!” replies Link. In seconds Link is dressed. He grabs his dagger and runs
out his door. What he sees frightens him half to death. There is a skull kid
lying on the ground, it appeared to be dead. “What happened here?” asked Link.
“We don’t know, we were all sleeping then we heard a thunderous boom and ran
out here to see this,” replies Sola, one of the know it all brothers. Link rushes
to the skull kids side and takes its pulse. “It’s dead, that’s for sure, and
whatever did this sure did a number on the poor thing.” Later in the afternoon,
all the Kokori children, Link, the Deku Scrubs, the fairies and The Great Deku
Sprout all held a torch burial for the skull kid. While staring at the burning
of the skull kid Link dazes off, and starts to dream. He dreams of a man, with
horns, and a long black cape, flying through the air. “This world will be mine!
Everything must perish, it will all be mine!” Link awakens to a feeling of cold
water being pressed firmly against his head. “All you alright Link?” asks Saria,
Link’s best friend. “Yeah...I’m fine I guess, what happened...?” says
Link in a rather dazed out voice. “You fainted, right in front of all of us,
then you started screaming and sweating badly, we were all scared!” replies Saria.
“I’m fine now, thanks for your help,” says Link. As Link gets to his feet
he sees the sky slowly turning black outside. Lightning starts crackling along
with huge blasts of thunder. “What the...” was all Link could sputter out. Both
Link and Saria run outside, only to see the man that Link had dreamt of when he
dazed off preparing to slay yet another skull kid. Link pulls out his dagger.
“You actually think you can harm me with that blade!?” bellows the menacing figure.
“You have no idea what you are all in store for. We will take over
Hyrule, one by one, every race in Hyrule will be slain, and resurrecte!

into an army of beasts, which will populate Hyrule in no time, and there is nothing,
your or anyone else can do about it!” With that said, the man raises his
hand and presses it against the defenseless Skull Kid’s head. Link stares as he
sees the skull kid’s flesh torn from its body, leaving behind only a pile of bones,
which turned to ash in a matter of seconds and mercifully swept away in the
wind. “What are you!?” screams Link over the crackling of lightning. “I...am
your worst nightmare kid.” Replies the man. I am referred to as Nightmare,
by all that I control. Prepare for the annihilation of your planet!” “Not so
fast brother!” says another voice in the distance. Link watched in amazement as
his archival Ganondwarf appeared out of the shadows. Ganon raises his hand
and fires a blast of energy towards Nightmare, which nails him dead on, but
has no effect. “Hehehe, brother, you are so pathetic, you people underestimate
my power!” screams Nightmare. Nightmare raises his hand and lets loose a fireball,
which nails Ganon dead on and sends him flying. “You will all perish at the
hands of me, prepare.... For Doomsday!!” Black clouds circle around Nightmare,
and in seconds he vanishes along with the storm. Link runs over to Ganon and
looks down upon his so-called enemy. He sees a huge gash across Ganon’s chest,
which is bleeding awfully. “We better get you inside,” says Link. He whistles and
in moments half of the Kokori children are standing in front of Ganon. “Link,
why are you helping this awful man out??” says one of the twins. “He helped us
out, he got that man called Nightmare to go away before he wreaked anymore havoc
on us, and for that, we should thank him.” All of the Kokori children bow down
gracefully in an attempt to thank the man who almost had slain them himself.
“We need to get him inside, put him on my bed. Saria can you go get a moist towel
and Mido, can you go fetch some Deku Medicine?” They both run off to get there
respectful items while Link and a few other Kokori children lift up G!

and carry him into Link’s house, which is no easy feat, believe you
me.” Now...the adventure begins....
CHAPTER 2
“Ahhh!” screams Ganondwarf as Link presses the moist towel against the
huge gash on his chest. “He did quite a number on you didn’t he?” asked one of
the Twins. “He sure did,” replied Ganondwarf. “He is my brother, Nightmare. Years
ago we were separated by the war that took place. After the war, I found out
that he was slain by one of the Hyrulian Guards. That is why I vowed war against
all Hyrulian Folk. I also wanted the Triforce of Power, the essence of life.
With it I could rule Hyrule and avenge my brother’s death. Now evil has consumed
his heart much more than it has mine, and he has returned from the grave to
slay all the races of Hyrule. Do you know what that means? After he is done there
will be no more Kakariko Village, Market, Lon Lon Ranch or anything else for
that matter! We must stop him, help me up!”
