We all know that in the Wind Waker a new Link rised to save The Great Sea. But what happened to the original pair. Their ansestors. What happened between then? Well this is what this story is about.

CHAPTER ONE

Link galloped across Hyrule Field on his trusty steed Epona to Hyrule Castle where Princess Zelda and the King awaited him. Today was no ordinary day. Today was the day he was to be announced the new Captain of the Guards. He had wanted it for three years and finally he got it after the other Captain retired.   When he reached the castle he was greeted with open arms by the guards who bowed as he passed. It made him feel important.  The trumpets sounded and he entered the castle. Its was decorated beautifully. Streamers and ballons everywhere. He walked into the throne room where a two giant golden thrones stood. Sat upon them was the King and his best friend, Princess Zelda. Crowds of people were gathered in the throne room waiting for him. He walked up to the thrones and there came silence in the room. Then the King spoke. "For many years I have stood upon my throne watching Hyrule rule over wars triumphantly. It is with my great pleasure and honor that I announce you the new Captain of the Guard. Link. Hero of Time.   The people cheered and balloons flew every which and where. Link looked to Zelda who smiled happily.  Link was important now. It was a great honor. To be this important.

CHAPTER TWO

Soon after everyone headed into the ball room for the dance. Link had brought his best black tunic to wear. He looked really good in it too.   He walked into the ballroom. It was full with the ringing of voices and beautiful music. Link made his way over to the corner. That's what he did at most of the parties. But, not this one. Almost every girl he knew asked him to dance. He denied them all. There was only one person he wanted to dance with. And that was Princess Zelda.   Link scouted around the ballroom to find her. He spotted her as usual over at the punch bowl chattering to Impa. She was wearing a long plain blue dress. And her hair was in a long pony tail. He tapped her on the shoulder. She turned around and smiled. "Oh hi Link." He smiled back. "Hi." Link shut his mouth. Zelda broke the silence. "What's up?" "Oh I just wanted to know if you'd like to dance?" Zelda smiled again. "Of course I'll dance with you. Why didn't you say so."   They danced together for two whole hours. Didn't stop for nothing. It was like magic when they danced. Their steps were exact their flow so graceful. As the song ended Link let go off her and said. "Lets go outside for some free air."

CHAPTER THREE

Zelda and Link entered the garden and sat down on a bench. It was a stary night. The moon was full. Link sighed. He was tense. Was now the right time? To tell her?   Link got tenser. "Link, you seem tense. What's wrong? Do you need to talk about something? I mean after all we are best friends." Link let out a big sigh and turned his head away. "Actually there is something . . .But, never mind. . ." Zelda urged him. "Link just spit it out." "Well maybe it would be better if I just told you." He turned his head back to her's. "Zelda. . .I love you."   Zelda's face went pail. "What? You . . .love. . .me! Me?!" She stood up. "Me?!!?!? That, that's insane! How dare you Link! I never wanna see you again!" And with that she stomped off. Link stood up. "Zelda wait. I'm sorry! I can't help it." But it was too late she was already gone.

CHAPTER FOUR

Link hadn't talked to Zelda for a month ever since that night. He still went to the castle to train and apoint new recruits. But, all the while all he thought about was Princess Zelda. He wished now that he hadn't told her. Then maybe they could of still been talking to one another. He loved Zelda and no one in the world could change that.   One morning he came to the castle after recieving an ergent letter from the King. When he goto the throne room all he guards were lined up whispering to eachother wondering why they were hear.   "Good Link is here." Said the King. "Now I have brought you hear because there are a band of Moblins on the eastern border. They must be stopped at all costs. Link you have two options. A portion of the guards will remain at the castle to guard it and the rest will go fight the Moblins. You can tell your second in commanding officer to take them to the eastern border so you can stay here and guard Zelda. How would that be?" He turned to his daughter. She simply looked away. The King sighed. Link looked at her with an angry look. "Your Majesty. I think I'll go to the eastern border. And it wouldn't matter if I died anyways because no one cares about me anyways." And he walked out. He knew Zelda. It would make her feel really bad then she'd talk to him.   It didn't work he waited for nearly three hours and Zelda never came to him. The next morning it was time to leave. Before he left he walked up to the Princess. She looked away. He grabbed her hand but she pulled away. Link took one step away from her. "Don't worry Zelda I'm never coming back so you don't have to worry about me annoying you." Link started over to Epona and mounted her. He left Hyrule with an empty heart.

CHAPTER FIVE

It was six months before they returned. And Link wasn't expecting anyone to welcome him back. When he returned there would be no one waiting for him. No one to give him a hug. No one to miss him. For the past six months he really wondered if taking the position was really worth it. So far it had been nothing but heart break.   He led his troups down the market to the castle where all of Hyrule awaited him. They had won the war and it was time to celebrate. Link motioned for the soldiers to be dismissed and they all ran their families. They all had loving wifes and children to come home to. But, Link. He had nothing. Link dissmounted Epona and made his way over to the castle gates to talk to the King. "Well done! Congrats. You did fine!" "Thank you." Link replied dully. The King looked at him and knew imediatly what was wrong. "She's in the courtyard. Maybe you should go talk to her." Link nodded and went into the garden.   The first thing he saw was the bench that he and Zelda sat on that night. That night. He looked away fearing the truth. While fighting the war all he thought about was her. To be able to see her again. To be able to talk to her again.   Link turned the corner and saw her sitting under a big Oak tree. He walked slowly over to her. "Hi Zelda." He said nealing next to her. She turned around and there was silence. She hadn't changed at all. They stared into eachother's eyes until Princess Zelda looked away. "What do you want?!" Link looked away. "Your still mad at me...Zelda...I'm so sorry. I really am. I can't help it. This feeling inside of me. I just ...Love you."   Tears trickled down Zelda's face. Link couldn't quite make out what she was feeling. It seemed like she was ready to cave in but then something else held her back. But what? "Link ...Why do you love me?" Link sighed and replied. "Everything about you. Your personality, your kind, I feel happy when I'm around you. I just don't feel the same way around anyone else."   There was more silence. More tears came pouring down Zelda's face. "I don't deserve you. Your a good person. I'm nothing but a Princess. What's wrong with Malon? She's perfect for you." Link understood now. He understood what was holding her back. She was afraid to love someone.   "Zelda. Are you scared to love someone?" He asked. She nodded and began crying even more. Link got closer to her and he hugged her. "If you don't love me that's fine. I'm not going to make you do something you don't want to." Princess Zelda stopped crying. "Link, what would I do without you?" They sat together until it became dark. The two went inside not speaking much

CHAPTER SIX

Link and Zelda got up the next day and took a walk together. Zelda told him about how she was feeling. Link understood. Princess Zelda had a jumble of emotions. Finally they stopped at the end of Zora's River.   "So Zelda do you love me?" Zelda smiled. "Yes." And they both kissed passionatly for a few minutes and walked back to hyrule castle.

IN THE END: CHAPTER SEVEN

Link and Zelda took things slow. They dated for a year before Link proposed to Zelda. Their wedding was huge and everyone in Hyrule came. The King of Hyrule stepped down and gave Link and Zelda the throne. Link became King of Hyrule. He ruled very well. Link and Zelda never had any children. They thought their adventure was over but it was barely beginning . .

CHAPTER EIGHT Link had only ruled over Hyrule for a year when a fell wind began to blow across the Kingdom that was Hyrule. The King kept a close eye on them and realized they were bringers of evil.  It ment that Ganon had returned!!!   Queen Zelda and Link decided to go and fight him but Zelda's Father forbided it. So they sneaked out of the castle one night to go seal the evil monstrosity once again.   Link and Zelda reached the top of Death Mountain. It was a horrible sight. Ganon had turned it into a land of lava.   Link pulled out the Master Sword and walked up to the ring ready to challenge whatever lied ahead. Suddenly a huge blaze of fire seperated Link and Zelda just like it had the first time.   The ground began to shake and Ganon emerged from beneath the ground. He had much more power now. He opened his eyes and looked down at the King of Hyrule. "You've grown Hero of Time." Boomed his voice. "Your a real man to come all the way up hear to challenge my might!"   Link put on his game face. "Ganon I don't know how you got out but I can seal you in again." Ganon lauphed. "You pathetic little man. You will not win this time I can asure you." He looked strait at Ganon. "Fine let's get this over with." "Fine." Replied Ganon. He snapped his fingers and his giant sword apearred before Link.   Ganon jumped into the air and directed a wizard punch toward Link. Link lifted up his shield and it decintigrated. "What the?!" Ganon lauphed. "You see you are no match for me!" "Oh yah!" Link runned up to Ganon and slashed him with his sword. Ganon's arm fell of. Green goop came pouring out. "Uhh  .. . .urrgg. .." Link smiled and watched as Ganon exploded. Green blood everywhere. The fire disappeared and Zelda ran over to him and kissed him. "I knew you could do it!"  "It was a piece of cake."   Zelda looked up and saw a huge shadow. "Uhh Link." She cried. "Look up!" Link looked up. "GET OUT OF THE WAY ZELDA!!!" He pushed her out of the way and the giant cloud came tumbling down onto him. Zelda sobbed as she listened to her husband scream in pain and agony as the cloud ate away at him like a apple.   Then suddenly the cloud disappeared and Zelda rushed over to Link. He was shaking and his eyes were pure white. "NNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" She sceamed. Her true love was dead. Zelda looked at the Master Sword it was black. That strange cloud had cursed it. Its magical power was gone. All hope was lost.

CHAPTER NINE

Zelda carried Link all the way back to the castle. All of the finest doctors in all of Hyrule were assigned to treat Link. Zelda paised back and forth in the throne room. Her stomach was in knots. Just then Impa entered the room. "Zelda come with me. Come see Link. He's looking a bit better."   Impa led Zelda to his room. Zelda nelt down and saw Link he was in lot's of pain. "Z-zelda?" "Ssshhh." replied Zelda tears running down her face smearing her makeup. "I-I love you." "I love you too." "Take care of Epona. . .and I'll wait for you in Heaven." And with that Link closed his eyes. . . All went silent . . .

CHAPTER TEN

No one was sure if Link was dead or not. The would have to see in the morning. To see if he awoke. Zelda stayed by his side all night hoping he'd still be alive. With what little hope she had left.   She was beginning to doze off again when she felt her hand being squeezed. Was it? She opened her eyes and saw Link looking at her. "Am am I dead?" He asked. Zelda began to cry. "No." Link and Zelda kissed passionatly again like they had the first time.   Link eventually got all of his strength back. Things were getting worse. Ganon wasn't dead. The battle just made him stronger. There was no way to stop him.   One day the castle was attacked by him. Everyone was in an uproar. The King decided it was time for Link and Zelda to be summoned.   "What's that?" asked Zelda clinging to Link while the walls rattled and shaked. "Since you and Link are bound to the Triforce you will never really die until Ganon is destroyed you'll be recarnated everytime he is back. So you'll be taken to heaven until its time to come down again. . . You two are our only hope." Link sighed. "Will we remember eachother?" "No. You will not be aware of any of this but you'll know when the time is right."   They decided to do so and Link and Zelda went to heaven. The goddesses poured heavy rains down until only the mountain tops were left. It had become a sea. The chosen ones chosen by the King were granted permission to start a new life on the mountain tops forgetting about their past and look ing toward the future.   Ganon reined over looking for Hyrule unaware of the King's plans. They waited 100 years for Link and Zelda to be reborn and then Legend of the Wind Waker began . . .
