The Legend of
Zelda: The Link Ultimatum
By Kevin Meng
Part I: 72 Hours
“Tetra, look up there!” yelled Gonzo.
The pirate climbed up the ladder and got to the top of
the watchtower. Zuko and Gonzo were up there waiting.
Zuko was pointing at the sky and muttering very strange
words. “What is it?” asked Tetra, “An enemy Flagship?”
“No, Tetra,” said Gonzo, “Look up in the sky!”
Tetra peered up into the dark night sky, and saw a
monstrous monolith in the air. It was a giant moon, with
a disturbing angry face carved on it. Based on the angle
of it, the moon looked like it was dropping down
directly at the Great Sea!
“OMFG!” screamed Tetra, “How the heck did that get in
the sky?”
“I don’t know,” said Gonzo, “But I have a feeling it has
something to do with that Ganondorf figure that was
sealed in stone a few days ago. Don’t worry, I’ll
protect you Tetra.”
“Shut up, Gonzo,” said Tetra.
She climbed down the ladder while thinking. “We’ll have
to consult Link on this matter.”
When she was halfway down, she jumped and landed next to
Senza, who was riding the ship. “Senza,” Tetra spoke,
“Set a course for Outset Island.”
Link was at the rock platforms, jumping around and
training. Orca watched on one stone platform, taking
marks on his performance.
“Good work, my apprentice,” said the master, “You are
more than just a skilled swordsman now. You are also an
acrobat.”
“Shows what you know, pighead,” said the Sturgeon as he
walked over with his cane, “I’ve been looking at
something in the telescope that has been troubling me.
Seems like some sort of moon, but I don’t know where
it’s headed.”
“A moon?” asked Link, “Sounds familiar to something.”
“Yeah, but I don’t like the looks of it.”
A small rumble suddenly filled Outset.
“Did any of you just feel that?” asked Link.
Suddenly, the whole island rocked like an earthquake.
The island seemed like it was pried off the sea. In
fact, it was. Link looked beneath where he was standing
to see the water getting farther and farther away from
the land.
“Dammit!”
He used his new found skills to kick off the stone
platforms and towards the bay. He landed on the tallest
one, and began to panic. The island was being lifted
into the air!
Link! Hear me Link!
The King of Red Lions! Link tried to search for the
boat.
Quick! I’m at the pier! Just run here and get in!
Link found the peer. He thrust himself forward and
flipped in the air. The green cloaked boy landed safely
in the boat. The island rose out of reach behind them,
and rubble from the bottom splashed water onto Link’s
face. The King and Link looked back to see what was
going on. “Help!” he heard Aryll yelling.
All 49 islands of the Great Sea were being lifted into
the air from the sea. Link could recognize Windfall,
Dragon Roost, and Forest Haven. Great Fish Isle was
being lifted up in the distance. The islands were being
raised up one kilometer into the sky, and then they
pieced together.
Link! Look higher!
The boy looked above the now floating continent, and saw
a giant castle dropping down onto the continent. It
smashed onto the giant piece of land and became part of
it.
“What is this evil?” asked Link, “Is that Ganondorf?
Can’t be, I sealed him into stone a few seasons ago.”
Link, look. Tetra’s ship is in here.
Link turned around and saw the pirate ship in front of
them. He nodded to the King of Red Lions, and they
sailed towards the ship.
Link, Niko, Mako, Zuko, Nudge, Senza, and Gonzo all sat
in a table in Tetra’s Cabin. Tetra paced back and forth
at the entrance. Hyrule’s spirit hovered at the end of
the table.
“So, let’s see,” said Tetra, “Link, you saw all the
islands being lifted into the sky, and so did all of we.
And at the same time, we saw a moon that was at the
angle of crashing into the Great Sea. I don’t get it.”
“You forgot to mention that a castle landed onto the
continent that the islands formed,” said Link.
“That continent is called Ganon Haven,” said Hyrule.
Everyone turned to look at him.
“I know this, because I have been communicating with
Ganondorf these past days. He was still sealed in the
stone, but I spoke with him. He told me of a place he
dreamed of, where everything was perfect. But he wanted
evil to reign. He wanted to create the world by piecing
bits of earth together. Two days later, he escaped
somehow. I do not know how, but maybe it is because he
gave up some of his power.”
“He gave up power to escape,” said Mako, “That seems
like a pretty fair deal to me.”
“Not if he escaped so he could find more power somewhere
else,” said Link.
“What are you talking about?” asked Tetra.
“You know, Majora’s Mask?” explained Link, “I’ve had to
deal with the magic in a previous lifetime. The thing
was so powerful, that it warped the entire world of
Hyrule and changed it into a place that was in a
countdown to destruction.”
“This is the exact thing I was talking about,” said
Hyrule, “The Majora’s Mask was obtained by Ganon after
he escaped, and now he used it to abduct all the islands
of the Great Sea, to create his own world. The same moon
that you saw in the impact angle was the same one Link
found in Termina. It would crash into the Termina within
three days. So will this moon, onto the Great Sea. It
will destroy everything.”
“Not much left to destroy, now that all the islands are
gone,” said Niko.
“You fool!” exclaimed Tetra, “There are more worlds than
you know of that exist in the Great Sea. Termina,
Hyrule, Koholint Island… All will be disintegrated.”
“There still is hope,” said Hyrule, “Since Ganon
escaped, the Master Sword has been scattered across the
Realm again. It has entered a world, lost of its power.
But Link can still retrieve it. The sword and its power
must have fallen within three worlds: Dragon Roost
Cavern, Forbidden Woods, and Great Bay. But after
finding the Master Sword, one must still open a pathway
to Ganon’s Lair. Tetra, you must do this. You must join
Link as he recovers his sword, and you must find the
three pearls: Din, Farore, and Nayru. Once you have
found these, you will become Zelda again, and have
enough power to open a gate to Ganon Haven. There, you
must do battle with Ganondorf to stop his plans once and
for all.”
“But what will he be doing while this happens?” asked
Link.
“I do not know,” said Hyrule, “But I know it is
something bad.”
“Don’t go, Tetra!” cried Gonzo, “If you die, I’ll be all
alone!”
“Shut up!” demanded Tetra, “Stop being a baby.”
“So, the quest is decided,” said Hyrule.
Part II: The Din Gate
The pirates were all gathered at the deck of the ship.
At the starboard side was a giant portal, and traveling
into it were Link and Tetra, aboard the King of Red
Lions. Link and Tetra gave the pirates a farewell, and
they entered the portal.
They appeared in a black space with blue crystal lights.
The King of Red Lions floated in midair. Link and Tetra
got off the boat. Three silver gates were placed in
front of them. One golden gate was behind.
“This is the Chamber of the Portals,” said the King,
“The three gates in front of you will lead you to the
Din Pearl, the Farore Pearl, and the Nayru Pearl. After
you find the three pearls, then Tetra must turn into
Zelda, for this gate only responds to her.”
Link and Tetra nodded, and they walked forward to the
Din Gate, the first one. They approached it, and the
gates opened. They then walked into the pathway.
Immediately they entered a new world. Everything was
white and grey, like a bad tv screen. A pool of lava was
in the middle but they couldn’t tell what the color was.
Above them were wooden planks jutting out from the
circular walls that surrounded them. On the ceiling
dropped out Valoo’s tail.
“This must be that giant Magtail’s lair, right?” asked
Tetra.
“Then where is the-”
Suddenly, a giant thing came out of the lava pool. It
was huge, with a bunch of spiny legs. It had a head with
two long claws, pincers, and large jaws. It blew fire
randomly around the room, and then brought a claw onto
the floor next to Link and Tetra, shaking the floor.
“Gohma!” yelled Link.
The creature brought its other claw on the other side of
Link and Tetra. They were trapped.
Gohma extended its head forward and mouth wide open. A
giant fireball began to accumulate in its mouth.
“Tetra!” yelled Link, “Give me my Hookshot!”
Tetra took out the Hookshot and gave it the Link. He
then grabbed onto Tetra and fired at one of the wooden
planks. They shot into the air just as Gohma blew magma
all over the area they were just at.
Link and Tetra dropped onto the higher wooden planks.
Link then changed into his Red Tunic to reduce the flame
damage. “Stay here,” he said to Tetra.
Link then took out his grappling hook. Looking down, he
saw Gohma still bewildered at where they went. Using the
hook, he aimed at Valoo’s tail and swung across the room
to the other side, landing on the floor below. Valoo’s
tail swung around madly, and a piece of the ceiling came
off. It then smashed onto Gohma’s body. The armor
cracked and fell off.
Gohma looked up angrily, and saw Tetra on the wooden
plank. It then reared out of the lava, and smashed onto
the platform where Tetra stood. She was knocked back,
and one of the pincers grabbed onto her leg. She had
nothing to protect her but the dagger.
Link tried to remember how to kill the thing. “Tetra!”
he yelled, “Hit its eye! That will destroy it!”
Tetra swung at the eye before Gohma could do anything.
It instantly released Tetra, and the platform cracked
apart. Tetra fell to the floor, okay, but a little
scratched. Gohma screamed as it turned into magma and
vaporized. Its eye then flew into the air, landing next
to Tetra.
Link and Tetra ran over to see that the eye became the
Din’s Pearl. At the same time, they found the Master
Sword stuck into it. Link walked forward to touch the
sword as Tetra walked forward to claim the pearl. As
they touched, everything went white.
Part III: The Farore Gate
They were back at the Chamber of the Portals. The King
of Red Lions floated there.
“You made it back alive,” the King said, “Put the pearl
on my back, and you may continue with your next
objective.”
They placed the pearl onto his back, and Link saw that
the Master Sword was out of the pearl. “You have
recovered you sword, that is good,” said the King, “You
still must find the other powers, but at least the sword
is stronger than the Hero’s Sword.”
Link smiled as he tossed his old sword, away, replacing
it with his better one.
“You have now to overcome the obstacles of the Forbidden
Woods,” said the King, “Go now, as the world depends on
you.”
Link and Tetra looked at each other and nodded. Then
they walked into the Farore Gate.
Once again, everything was grey and white. Link and
Tetra stood in another circular room, but this time
there was plant life everywhere. In the middle was a
large flower.
Link looked at Tetra. “Tetra, I have something to say.
You are the most important on this quest. On the last
fight, you were almost killed. Everything really depends
on you, since only you can create contact with the
enemy. From now on, I really wish to fight on my own.”
“Right,” said Tetra, “And I’ll just stand and watch? I
can’t do that.”
“Yes, but at least stay out of the way in this battle.
We are dealing with a very-”
Tetra had already run up to the large flower in the
middle. She got into the core of the flower, and looked
around.
“Link, I don’t see any enemy…” she said.
“Tetra! Get out of there! That flower is the-”
A head popped out of the flower’s core. It was some sort
of a small tulip head, but the petals opened up to
reveal a mouth and a throat in it. The mouth drooled
purple saliva onto Tetra’s neck, causing her to turn
around to face the head with her sword drawn.
Kalle Demos, thought Link.
The flower then looked down at the terrified girl. It
then opened its mouth wide and its jaws clamped around
Tetra’s waist, lifting her into the air. She was halfway
in, legs swinging in the air. The tulip mouth sucked on
her body while drooling purple saliva all over the
floor. Then it threw its head up, opened wider, and it
swallowed Tetra alive.
Just like Makar! Thought Link, I told you to run away!
Kalle Demos licked its lips, and then burped out Tetra’s
dagger, which landed next to Link. It then hung onto the
ceiling with six tendrils, and countless vines rose out
from the bottom of the flower. The vines had sharp
edges, and moved very fast. Kalle Demos was fully
revealed.
“That is it,” said Link, “You’re not going to get away
after eating my girl.”
He took out his boomerang, and tossed it in a way that
all the vines were beginning to be cut off. But the
boomerang moved too slow, and that gave Kalle Demos
enough time to knock Link onto the wall with a fast
moving tentacle. Link blacked out.
In his head, Link saw himself in a field. Then as he
looked around, he saw flashbacks of Tetra. He saw Tetra
being held by the claws of the Helmaroc King, then Tetra
flinging him into the Forsaken Fortress. He then saw a
picture of Tetra winking to Link after leaving him to
fight the Helmaroc King. Then he saw a picture of Tetra
jumping in at the last minute to prevent Link from being
killed by Ganon. Finally, he saw the picture of Tetra
becoming Zelda.
Link couldn’t give up now. Tetra still needed to
survive, even though she was just devoured by some plant
monster. Link ran out of the field, and jumped off the
edge.
Link woke up on the floor and looked up with just enough
time to see Kalle Demos falling onto the floor, all
tendrils severed off. The tulip head appeared again in
the middle of the flower. It was still licking its lips.
“You sadistic thing!” yelled Link as he jumped forward
with his sword. He stuck the sword through Kalle Demo’s
head, and impaled it. The head writhed in agony, picking
up Link in its jaws and flinging him across the place.
Link did not give up. He jumped back up and used the
Deku Leaf to blow Kalle Demo’s head back. The monster
was stunned, and Link ran forward to give a good slash
at the monster’s stem. The head was hit to the point
that it almost fell off. Link then swung around again to
give another slash.
The enemy was almost dead, but the flower began to close
back up. Link jumped back and tossed a bomb into the
flower just as it closed.
BOOM!
The flower petals were blown off, and the tulip’s head
flew into the air. Part of the stem was connected to it.
The head landed next to Link, who ran forward to it. He
found the mouth opened, and then it began to wriggle.
Tetra then crawled out of the throat of the tulip stem.
She then kicked the head away as she got out, covered in
purple slime.
“Thanks, Link,” said Tetra, “I didn’t know what I was
doing. Before I knew it, I was almost ready to die. But
you rescued me before that could happen.”
“Don’t do anything stupid anymore, and I’ll say you’re
welcome,” said Link.
Link then hugged Tetra hard, which was kind of gross
because she was drenched in Kalle Demo’s guts. Then
Tetra took out something from her pocket.
“Look at what I found while I was inside Kalle Demos,”
she said, “The Farore’s Pearl. Obviously it thought the
pearl was candy or something.”
Link took out his Master Sword, and touched the blade
onto the pearl. In a flash, they were gone.
Part IV: The Nayru Gate
Link and Tetra appeared back at the Chamber of the
Portals. Tetra was all clean, and Link was clear of his
battlescars. Link’s Master Sword was now half powered.
They walked forward to the King of Red Lions.
“Some battle that was,” the King said, “That was the
closest you ever came to losing it all.”
“Tetra was a little bit too excited about fighting,”
said Link, “But I gave that giant plant a couple of good
blows.”
“Well, the next enemy appears to be the strongest and
largest one you’ll ever fight. Hope you’ll have a lucky
time fighting in the Great Bay Temple.”
“Don’t worry, we’ll survive,” said Link.
Tetra put the pearl onto the King’s back.
They walked towards the final gate. Link looked back.
“The Great Sea is in for a rough ride,” he said,
“Everything better come out all right.”
Tetra looked at Link, and then Link at Tetra.
“What?” asked Tetra.
“Nothing, it’s just-”
Link looked at the floor, then at Tetra. “I’m in love
with you.”
“I know that,” said Tetra, “You told me that before.”
“But you’re really Zelda, and I can’t be in love with
someone who is a princess.”
“Right now, I’m still Tetra. You can think anything of
me until I become Zelda.”
Link nodded, and they walked into the Nayru Gate.
They appeared on a platform. Beneath them was deep,
dark, and evil water. Tetra hugged Link for comfort.
“Where are we?” she asked.
“We’re in the Lair of a giant monster,” said Link, “What
else?”
“Look! Something is moving in the water!” yelled Tetra.
They looked in the water and saw a giant shadowy thing
swimming beneath them.
“We’ll have to go after it,” said Link, “Here, wear
this.”
Tetra was handed the Blue Tunic, and she wore it on.
“It will help you breathe and swim around in the water,”
said Link.
He put on the Zora mask. “We’re ready to go,” he said.
The two jumped into the water and began to swim
downwards. They swam down for a long time, and finally
were at the ground. They looked around.
“Where did the thing go?” asked Tetra.
Suddenly, a giant thing shot out from behind them. Both
ducked, and it swam past. It wasn’t aiming for them
anyways, but they saw the giant purple fish chewing up a
green guy in a jumpsuit, and it swallowed him. Link
shivered in disgust. The Gyorg just ate Tingle. Not that
Link really cared though. Tingle was kind of annoying.
It then turned around. The thing was huge, about as big
as Gohma, but wider. The thing’s mouth was big enough to
swallow a pirate ship.
“That is a Gyorg!” exclaimed Tetra, “Only that it is ten
times bigger!”
“No, that is the King Gyorg. This is Great Bay Temple,
and I remember fighting this thing.”
Suddenly, the thing charged at them with a wide open
mouth. Tetra took out her dagger and swam out of the
way, and tossed her dagger at the fish’s skin. It
bounced off the Gyorg’s rough skin.
“What?!” she exclaimed.
Zora Link swam away from the Gyorg with ten times the
speed. He then pulled Tetra up. “Quick, we must get to
the surface! If we try to damage it now we’ll only get
eaten!”
They started to swim up, and they landed onto the
platform above the water. “Tetra, duck down for this.
I’ve got this thing covered.”
Zora Link the saw the fish swimming below. It jumped
into the air and over Link, who jumped out of the way.
He then took off his mask, and was able to use his bow
and arrow.
The Gyorg landed in the water and began to swim across
to the other side. It was headed for Tetra.
Tetra saw this coming, and ran to the middle of the
platform. The Gyorg smashed against the side of the
platform, almost knocking her into the water.
Link saw the fish swimming back to his side, and jumped
across the platform to bite Link. The boy swiftly ducked
out of harm’s way, and the fish flew one inch from his
body. While the Gyorg was still in the air, Link shot an
arrow at the fish’s belly. The Gyorg shrieked, and fell
into the water stunned.
The Gyorg began to sink slowly downwards, and Link saw
this as an opportunity. He flipped on his Zora mask and
dived into the water. He targeted the fish’s side.
Equipping his shield, he did the Barrier charge attack.
Link shot forward and smashed into the giant fish’s
side, and came through the other side. The Gyorg writhed
in the water, splashing bubbles everywhere as blood
rapidly shot out of the holes Link made. Then the Gyorg
was still; lifeless.
Link swam back to the surface and dolphin jumped on the
platform. Tetra was waiting there.
“Ten said you made it,” said Tetra smiling.
Link grumbled and walked over, handing her ten rupees.
“On my way past the fish’s body, I knocked this out of
it’s eye,” said Link, holding the Nayru’s pearl. “Now
all we’ll have to do is find our way out of here.”
“Last time, you just needed to touch the Master Sword to
it.”
Link first took off his mask. Then he set the pearl onto
the floor, and jabbed the sword onto it. Nothing
happened.
“Uh-oh,” said Link.
“The only way this can work is if the enemy has been
destroyed. So then the only explanation is-“
A giant splash was made and the Gyorg jumped into the
air. “It hasn’t died!” finished Tetra.
The Gyorg then charged at the platform at full speed.
Link and Tetra braced for impact.
In all his anger, Gyorg smashed the platform into bits.
Link and Tetra fell into the water. They saw the Gyorg
swimming underneath their feet, jaws snapping as it
crunched pieces of the platform to powder.
Link! I’m here!
Link looked in front of them. The King of Red Lions had
appeared!
“Quick, Tetra! Get into the boat!” yelled Link.
Both of them swam for their lives as the Gyorg shot in
their direction. They jumped into the boat just as the
Gyorg’s jaws thrust up at where they just were.
“Go!” yelled Link.
He used his Windwaker baton and aimed the wind at the
direction of a cave. The sail then flipped up, and they
were off just as the Gyorg began to chase after them.
“Since you didn’t kill the enemy,” explained the King,
“We’ll now have to find the mandatory exit, a portal
that is somewhere in this cave.”
“LOOK OUT!” screamed Tetra.
The Gyorg appeared underneath them, and ascended as fast
as sound.
Link flipped out his Ocarina of Time, and played the
Song of Time. The Gyorg moved in slow motion as it
struggled to move itself upwards.
The King of Red Lions found a draft of wind flowing
through another cave, so he changed course. Just as he
turned, the Song of Time wore off and the Gyorg crashed
upwards.
They were navigating through another tunnel, when the
Gyorg yet again emerged and began to chase. Link turned
around and equipped the Bomb Cannon at the back of the
boat. The King Gyorg opened its mouth wide as it charged
forward to claim its dinner.
BOOM!
It got a mouthful of bombs. The Gyorg made a burp that
propelled it back ten yards. They then arrived at a
large opening area with a bunch of spires and
stalagmites. Link turned back and began to rain bombs
onto the Gyorg as it charged forward. The explosions
were slowing it down, but not stopping it. It was going
to get them soon.
Link had an idea. Above them was a wall of spires. He
aimed upwards, and fired. The explosion rocked the
cavern, and spires began to fall down. Ten impaled the
Gyorg completely, and stuck it underwater like a
thumbtack.
“Look! There is the portal!” yelled Tetra as she pointed
ahead.
A purple gate stood in front of them. At the same time,
a spire was falling down. The King of Red Lions jetted
forward as fast as he could, and they made it in just as
the spire crashed down.
Part V: Link vs. Dark Link
“Aahh!” yelled Link as they appeared back in the Chamber
of the Portals. The spire had cut into his leg just as
they got past. It wasn’t much of a wound, but he wasn’t
going to be running anytime soon.
“That was very brave what you did back there,” said the
King, “You fully exposed yourself to attack to help the
rest. For that, your sword is now powered to its full
extent.”
“Here, drink this,” said Tetra, walking over with a
glass of Lon Lon Milk.
“Thanks,” said Link, and he chugged it down. His wound
instantly healed.
Both then looked at the King, who had morphed into the
spirit of Hyrule again. It his hands were the pearls.
“We have the three pearls now. And Tetra, you must now
take the pearls and transform into Zelda.”
The girl walked forward and held her hand forward. The
three pearl then lifted into the air, and began to
circle around her. A flash of light occurred, and in
Tetra’s place was Zelda.
“Zelda…” said Link, “You look so…beautiful…”
“I have transformed,” said Zelda, looking at her hands,
“I now have enough strength to open that lock!”
She turned around, and held her arm up. The lock of the
gate, golden, turned grey and shattered.
“Let us enter,” said Zelda.
Hyrule floated towards the gate, and Zelda followed.
Link was about to, when suddenly a dark arrow struck the
floor in front of him.
“It’s an ambush!” yelled Hyrule, “Quick, get into the
gate!”
“But what about Link?” asked Zelda in fear.
“He’ll take care of it. There is an enemy who he must
deal with.”
Zelda gave one last worried look back at Link, then
walked into the gate. Hyrule floated in behind her. Link
then turned around and saw a dark figure walking over
from in the darkness of the chamber. He then walked into
the light of the crystal platform. It was Dark Link.
“You!” yelled Link, “Who the hell are you?!”
“I’m you! I’m your shadow!” yelled Dark Link.
“What?!” exclaimed Link.
“Ask the father that you killed! I’ll send you to hell
to meet him!”
Dark Link then charged over with his sword. Link
countered, and the duel began.
Link struck downwards and twisted Dark Link’s sword
around until his arm was locked in a corner. He then
kicked Dark Link in the face.
“Is that a way to treat your shadow?” he taunted.
Dark Link then struck his sword upwards, glancing the
sword off Link’s face. A little blood fell out.
“There is no father of mine that has died!” said Link.
“Relax, I was just saying a quote from Metal Gear
Solid.”
“Really? Well, anyways, DIE!”
Link spun his sword around, and Dark Link countered it.
Link then brought the sword down a couple of inches to
complete the slash. Dark Link put his foot onto Link’s
sword and planted it into the platform. Dark Link
laughed and brought his sword up, the hilt knocking Link
in the chest. Link backed up and coughed up some blood.
He then darted forward while rapidly swinging the Skull
Hammer. Dark Link’s eyes bulged wide open as he was
smashed into the floor as flat as a disk.
He then popped up back into shape. At the same time Link
tossed his boomerang forward. It cut Dark Link’s arm,
and he dropped his sword. Dark Link was then stunned
from the pain for a few seconds. Link ran forward and
slashed. At the same time Dark Link brought his sword
up. They were in a stale mate. Both sides were trying to
win the other by completing the slash. Dark Link then
kicked Link all the way to the other side. He almost
fell off the crystal platform. Link grabbed onto the
edge. Dark Link walked over and slashed down onto Link.
Link blocked, and grabbed onto Dark Link’s arm. He then
vaulted over the enemy, slashing downwards. He cleaved
Dark Link’s back open.
When he landed, he saw that Dark Link’s back was healing
itself at the time. Link then charged up for a Hurricane
Spin. Dark Link recovered himself just as Link came
spinning over with a flashing sword. Dark Link countered
by spinning around the other way, blocking three times.
On the third time, he shot his arm out in a rapid
movement, and snatched the Master Sword out of Link’s
hand.
Dark Link then jumped away, with a triumphant smile. He
now owned the Dark Master Sword, and the Light Master
Sword. He had prevailed.
But he saw that Link was chuckling. Then it became
laughter.
“What are you so happy about?” Dark Link asked.
“This.”
Link suddenly holstered a giant minigun from his back,
with a backpack full of ammunition. Dark Link dropped
both swords in indignance. “Where the #@$% did you get
that?!”
“Doesn’t matter. Only lead injection matters.”
Link then raised the gun and fired. The hail of bullets
hit Dark Link until he vaporized. The Master Sword lay
in his place.
Link put the machine gun away and walked forward to
claim his sword back. Then he continued on into the
portal.
“So long, Old Enemy.”
Part VI: Armageddon
Link appeared in a strange area. He was at the stairs
circling up a very tall tower. Looking down, he saw all
49 islands of the Great Sea pieced underneath him. He
grew dizzy from the height.
Link then ran up the stairs. He heard a scream. That
sounded like Zelda’s voice!
He ran all the way up the stairs, and entered a familiar
four star platform. The stairs then crumbled behind him.
In front was Zelda, and she was on the floor with no
motion.
Ganondorf stood at the other end of the platform, and in
his hands were the three pearls. His face held the
Majora’s Mask. Farther forward, the moon was seen at the
exact level of the tower they were on. He smiled and
dropped the pearls to the floor.
“Go ahead, try taking them back,” he taunted.
“You killed her, you bastard!” yelled Link as he ran
forward.
“No, I wouldn’t say that,” said Ganondorf as he lifted
the Nayru’s Pearl. A forcefield grew around him and
knocked Link backwards. “All I did was ionize her with
energy.”
“You’re going to pay,” said Link.
“I don’t think so. You’re on my lair now, Link, raised
up two kilometers in the air. I could use my magic and
knock you off like a fly if I wished. The moon is only
thirty minutes away from destroying the Great Sea, and
then everything you know of will be lost.”
He then walked back to his edge of the platform. Link
saw two pieces of the Triforce formed. Only the Triforce
of Wisdom was missing.
“I need this final Triforce to wish for evi reign of
this world forever, and that no matter what anybody says
it cannot be reversed,” he turned back, “That means if
you try to counterwish anything, it’s not gonna happen!
Ha, sucker!”
“You still haven’t found the Triforce yet, and you never
will!” yelled Link, “And I will make sure that the moon
will never touch the Great Sea!”
Ganon laughed. “Haha! Just look in front of you. If it
is something that can be stopped, then stop it!”
With that, he held one hand up in the air and shouted. A
beam of light burst from his hands, and illuminated the
arena. Link saw in the distance that the moon suddenly
was moving at twice its speed. They only had fifteen
minutes left! Ganon was using his might to bring down
the moon onto the sea!
Link took something out of his shield pack, and put it
on his face. The Fierce Deity mask! He then looked
forward with anger.
“Die Ganon!” he yelled.
Link then swung and unleashed a firebolt at Ganon from
his sword, who jumped into the air to dodge it. He then
lifted the Din Pearl and fired with Din’s fire three
times. Link arched his back in bullet time, and the fire
missed his body by a hairbreadth. Link uprighted himself
to see ten more fireballs headed his direction. He spun
around to dodge, watching the flames whizz by his body.
He then swung out with his sword, and deflected a
fireball.
The flame then redirected its path at Ganon. Link saw
this as a chance and flashed forward to fight. Ganon
suddenly revealed a sword in one hand and deflected the
blow of the fireball. As Link swung his sword, another
sword appeared in Ganon’s other hand, blocking that
attack.
Ganon then advanced on Link with a series of quick
slashing attacks. Link flashed his sword quick too, but
not fast enough for two swords. Link saw a good
opportunity the strike at Ganon’s heart, since he mainly
attacked at the sides by slashing. Ganon suddenly jumped
into the air and descended on Link with both swords
pointing downwards. Link then parried, rolling in a
circle and ending up behind Ganon as he landed. SLASH!
Ganon’s back was hit, and he bent over weakened. Link
then rolled back onto his feet and ran to attack Ganon.
In an instant Ganon had righted himself and slashed
backwards. Link cried as his arm was sliced off.
“AAUUGHH!”
Ganon smiled and continued by using his next sword to
strike. The sword went right into Link’s chest. The
green boy looked at Ganon.
“Why…”
He then kneeled onto the floor, and his mask fell off.
Link then collapsed onto the floor. Ganon walked over to
retrieve his sword.
“Every hero was made to die, and it is always fun
killing them,” he said, “The world is lost, and all
under my control now.”
He walked over to Link and looked down on him. “Not even
a match. Good bye, Hero of Time.”
Ganon turned back to look for the pearls. They weren’t
there. He found them rolling in a certain direction,
towards Zelda.
“NO!”
The pearls then touched Zelda, and formed into her body.
Zelda then rose. Her eyes opened.
“Link!” she yelled. Zelda then ran over to the bleeding
body of Link, now eyes closed.
“Link…” she said, crying. Ganondorf laughed out loud.
“How could you do this!” she yelled.
“It is only because he first tried to attack me.”
“That was because you first attacked me!” yelled Zelda,
“Now I’ll finish the job Link was after!”
She looked at Link. “I will show you the marvels of my
power. I hope you are watching down from heaven.”
Zelda then created fifty Din’s Fire all at once. Ganon
coughed in surprise and yelped as she rained all of it
onto him.
The running Gerudo was scorched from all of the
fireballs. He then turned back and shook himself free of
the fire. “Ha! Is that all you got?” Taking aim, he
charged a giant energy ball and fired it at Zelda. Zelda
teleported with Farore’s Wind, and disappeared from
Ganondorf’s sight. “Where the hell did she go?” thought
Ganon. She then appeared behind him, and kneed him in
the back. Ganon coughed up spit, and hunched forward.
Then he rapidly swung back with one sword. Zelda ducked,
and kicked upwards, knocking the sword out of his hand.
Then she used Nayru’s Love, and Ganon was knocked into
the air by the shield.
“Pretty feisty woman, aren’t you?” he taunted with a
bloody nose.
He hovered in midair and swung his swords three times,
and three energy streaks flew at Zelda. She flew towards
Ganon while swerving left and right to dodge, and then
shot Din’s Fire at Ganon. He was hit in the head, and
yelped with the pain. Zelda then teleported everywhere
around Ganon, yelling a battlecry as she kicked
everywhere around Ganon. The cry echoed out through the
arena. Ganon would be kicked forward, and instantly
Zelda would punch him in the face, and as his head flew
back she would appear on top of Ganon generating a Din’s
Fire.
“So much power…” said Ganon.
The cry reached the Triforce of Courage on the
unfinished Triforce. It then resonated. A beam from the
Triforce then shot at Link’s direction. The beam lifted
Link into the air. The wound in his chest was healing,
and his arm grew back. Link’s eyes then opened.
“NOOO!!!!” yelled Ganon.
The boy stood up in a daze. He was sure that he was
dead. He was stuck in the chest by a sword. But he was
alive. Looking around, he found the Fierce Deity Mask.
That was not what he was looking for, because obviously
the mask couldn’t help him fight against Ganon. He then
found the Master Sword. Looking up, he saw Zelda beating
the crap out of Ganon. Ganon was bleeding all around
him, full of bruises. Finally, some of his teeth were
knocked out.
“That’s what you get, Ganondork!” he yelled.
“Link?!”
Zelda looked down, and saw Link standing there. “LINK!”
she cried.
“Look out!” yelled Link.
Zelda turned back just in time to evade Ganon’s Warlock
Punch. Purple energy flew past her. She then took out
the Light Arrow. Taking aim at the fiend, she fired.
“AAAAGHHH!” yelled Ganon.
He then froze in midair, and descended to the floor.
Zelda turned to Link. “You know what to do!” she yelled.
Link nodded and ran towards Ganon. The enemy began to
struggle with the power of the Light arrow, but was
having a hard time. He saw Link running over with his
Master Sword in hand.
“No…”
Ganon then stuck both swords out. Link jumped to dodge,
catapulting forward. Ganon then brought his swords up,
and Link blocked by swinging his sword below him. He
then ended up striking forward, impaling Ganon.
“AAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHH!
Ganon looked at the sword in his chest. He then looked
up at Link. Blood flowed out of his mouth. The Majora’s
Mask then glowed with light, and it sunk into Ganon’s
face. He then chuckled.
“You’ll need more than that to prevent yourself from
dying.”
“What?!”
Ganon then laughed loudly. He then began to grow
brightly with light. Suddenly, a faded image of the
Majora’s Mask appeared around him.
“The power of the Mask grants me ten seconds of ultimate
power before I am fully defeated! My fate will not be
sealed without a fight!”
Ganon then charged forward, starting a reaction of
events.
TEN: Ganon ignites the rim with fire. Zelda releases a
fire bolt at Ganon.
NINE: Ganon reflects the Din’s Fire. Link hits it back,
but is hit backwards by the force.
EIGHT: Link falls toward the fire.
SEVEN: Zelda flies over and grabs Link before he can
fall in. Ganon then grows tentacles and they shoot out.
SIX: All tentacles coil around Zelda. She drops Link to
the floor.
FIVE: A tentacle with fangs on it darts for Zelda’s
neck. Link takes out his boomerang.
FOUR: Link tosses the boomerang. The tentacles are cut
off a second before the fang reaches Zelda.
THREE: Ganon gets angered, and fires out one hundred
bolts of energy at random directions.
TWO: Link pulls out his shield and pulls Zelda out of
the way. One energy bolt hits Zelda on her skirt.
ONE: Ganon charges up to destroy the entire arena, and
everything two miles away.
ZERO: Ganon freezes into stone before he is finished
charging up.
“I will not be sealed! I will not be…”
Ganon turned to stone. The faded Majora’s Mask around
him disappeared.
Link looked at his finally defeated adversary for a long
time. Then he noticed Zelda was staring forward.
“What is it?”
“The moon,” she said, “It hasn’t stopped.”
Hyrule’s spirit then appeared next to them. He looked
upset. “The moon has already gotten too close to the
Great Sea. It cannot reverse its direction, even with
Ganon gone. It will continue to travel in this
direction.”
Everyone looked at the moon. It was now flaming
brightly, traveling down with immense speed as it got
closer and closer to the sea.
“Is there anyway to stop it?” asked Zelda.
“There has to be a way!” yelled Link. He took out his
Ocarina.
“Link, stop!!” yelled Hyrule, “If you reverse the time,
you’ll undo all the work that was done!”
“Then what can we do?” asked Zelda.
Link was looking around the platform, and then he saw
it. The Triforce.
“The Triforce will work!” he exclaimed.
“But it is unfinished!” said Zelda, “If only…”
Link then thought deeply. The pearls have helped them so
far. If only the pearls could show him where the
Triforce was. The Pearls…
“GOT IT!” yelled Link.
He ran over to Zelda. “Hand me the pearls,” he said.
Zelda focused, and the pearls left her body. They then
circled in front of Link’s face. They formed a triangle.
“Triforce!” yelled Link, “Come to me!”
Golden filled the triangle. The Triforce was made.
“Good work Link!” yelled Hyrule.
A giant rumble shook the area. They turned back to the
moon to see that it was getting too close. It was
already close enough to be seen moving. The rumble was
caused by a piece of the moon breaking off from its
speed. It was now traveling under the atmosphere.
“We have only fifteen seconds left!” yelled Zelda.
Link pulled the Triforce and transferred it onto the two
other, completing the whole pattern. The Triforce was
finished.
“HURRY!!” screamed Zelda.
Link then ran to the Triforce. He then touched it and
began to speak. “Power of the Gods. I speak to you now.
Rewind all time. Take everything back to the most recent
time of peace. Then take away this foul evil presence
away from the sea, and protect us forevermore. Let none
of us remember any of this.”
Link let go just as the moon smashed onto the sea,
creating an explosion that set off an entire tidal wave.
The wave traveled at Link and Zelda faster than the eye
could catch. A nanosecond before they could be hit,
everything suddenly rewinded.
Part VII: Back to the Past
“Let me check it out,” said Link.
They walked to Sturgeon’s room. Link then walked to the
window where a telescope was placed. He then looked out
of it.
“Look in the sky,” said the Sturgeon.
Link looked up. He saw a faint image of a giant moon
there. He blinked, and looked back. The image then faded
away.
“Sturgeon, I think you’re mistaken. There’s no moon
there.”
“Really? Well, then it probably was my bad eyesight.”
Link then continued to look out of the telescope as the
Sturgeon walked away. He looked around in the sky, and
saw a swarm of Seahats out in the distance. Then, he saw
Tetra’s ship riding over to Windfall Island. Farther
out, he could see Forsaken Fortress, now more decayed
than ever. The whole world was at utmost peace. He felt
happy.
Looking back up, he tried to find the moon again. It
never appeared.
“Ganon, you’ll never be able to hurt us,” he said,
“Never.”
