Jitsen's Tale: by Jitsen-Juru_Garo

Despite her long robe Deytra skipped merrily around the pedestal in the temple of time.
"Deytra! What have I told you about playing around that pedestal. And who are you talking to!" Jeeran yelled from the front of the Temple, "You're supposed to be sweeping!"
"Who I'm talking to is none of your business! And I've been cleaning this place up since early morn! I'm taking my break." Deytra yelled back to her older brother, "Do I have to wear this Temple habit. I'm gonna trip on it."
"You'll wear it and wear it respectfully. It's only one day until the gala. We must ready the temple." Jeeran wrinkled his nose at his disrespectful sister.
Deytra turned back to the pedestal and talk to nothing,
"Don't mind Jeeran, he's so uptight."
Jeeran was only fifteen two year older than Deytra was, but he acted as if he was her father.
Deytra and Jeera where brought into the Temple as small children. They worked for the caretaker of the Temple, Treymey. He used to watch over Impa's house in Kakariko until he moved to Hyrule market after the great Link cleaned up the place and left for Termina. But now Treymey was old and greying and he depended on his "children" Jeera and Deytra to take care of the temple, even more now since it was only two days from the gala.
Link had been at Termina for very long now, at least fourty years, he had only visited twice in that time period, and Queen Zelda, or more her daughter Zelrin received word Link would be returing again.
"So your really from Termina.." Deytra whispered to the pedestal of time.
There was a pause.
"That's so cool. And you really know Link?" Deytra said to nothign again.
"Deytra!" The sound of Jeeran made Deytra jump.
"I'm not doing anything!" Deytra said spinning around.
"I know your not. I just worry about you Deytra. That's all. Most girls your age don't talk to pedestals." Jeeran scolded.
"Leave me alone! You don't know who I was talking to!" Deytra said as she left the pedestal, and ran towards the exit of the Temple of time just as Treymey was entering.
They bumped into each other, knocking Treymey down.
"You've got quite some energy child." Treymey said as he tilted his head at one side and smiled.
"I'm very sorry Treymey." Deytra said as he helped him to his feet, "I have to be going now sir. Goodbye." Deytra said as she ran out of the temple.
Jeeran approached Treymey, "She's been like this a lot lately. I don't know what's wrong with her."
"She has had a lot of energy latetly, her power level seems to be rising. We should start her into fencing."
"No, sir, she'd hate that. She hates being told what to do. I worry about her though because doesn't have many friends, and who could here. No children live in Hyrule market. Now she's constantly talking to herself." Jeeran sighed.
"Have you ever stopped to think, that there may be someone there?"

Deytra skipped around a tree in the central market.
"So why is it taking so long for Link to get here?"
A long pause and Deytra began talking again, "Oh. That would be bad. You think he really needs help?" Another pause, "Who would believe me anyway. So Jitsen, what's it like being able to not have anyone see you but me?" More silence, "Oh cool, and I've been wondering, what's it like to be a Juru_Garo?"

Epona nudged Link's body tenderly with her nose.
He turned over slowly and looked into the face of his horse.
"Is this where it ends friend?" He asked his horse and Epona reered back and neighed mournfully.
Link was about fifty-seven, but the years of battles and fighting gave him the appearance of seventy or so, quite less youthful compared back to the days when he save Termina and Hyrule.
A creature only moments ago ran out in front of Link, making Epona reer up and throw him from her back.
"I sound just like an old timer. I can see it now, 'The great Hyrule and Termin hero dies in the woods from a broken hip.'" Link laughed as he lifted a hand up to pet Epona, but pulled back when pain shot through his body.
The horse was greying as well as Link was. Her beautiful brown coat now mottled with grey and her legs shaky and unstable, yet she found the strength to carry Link.
Cackling of poes suddenly surrounded the forest, closing in aroun Linka nd Epona. As they grew louder shadows began forming and dancing over Link. Epona neighed fearfully, but she refused to leave Link's side.
In a blast of yellow and white light, a human appeared.
Caped in a purple and white scraggly tunic with a hood one it, very similar to what regular poes wore.
Poes began forming around the human, dancing in a hex type way. The human appraoched Linka dn Epona turned around and went to kick the human. But whomever it was grabbed Epona's leg and snapped it.
The horse fell to the ground wailing pitiously. Link just looked on in horror. He could move or help the horse or himself.
The person kneeled next to Link and opened up a bottle, and poured the sandy like substance around Link's body, outlining it perfectly.
It chanted some inaudible verses and turned to it's poes and shouted out a cry that sounded triumphant.
The poes picked up speed in there dance and began closng in rapidly around Link and Epona.
The human snapped his fingers and the poes stopped moving.
The human swirled his cape around himself and disappeared in an instant.
The poes got there cue. They swarmed Link and Epona, in moments they disappeared taking Linka nd Epona with them, leaving only the outline of Link's body from the purple power.

Deytra stared blankly at the person only she could view, "Why do you have to go?" A pause, "Really to Termina! Alright then." She sighed, "Goodbye."
"Deytra please tell me who you're talking to." Jeeran said in a worried voice.
"If you must know, I'm talking to Jitsen." Deytra said in a matter-of-fact voice.
"Who's Jitsen?" Jeeran asked.
"She's a Juru_Garo."
Treymey who had just walked up behind the two froze in his tracks.
"A Juru_Garo." Treymey asked as he quivered with fear.
"She's my friend!" Deytra exclaimed.
"Come in side children." Treymey whispered.
"Yes sir." They both mumbled in reply as they headed into the Temple of Time.
Treymey looked around and got a chill down his spine.
The Market place was empty, it always was around the time of a gala. Everyone had a job to do inside their homes and shops.
Something had happened not to long ago, he could sense it, but he ignored the feeling for the time being and hurried back to the Temple after the two teenagers.
"You can't talk to Jitsen anymore." Treymey said to Deytra who sat on the floor next to Jeeran.
She jumped up, "No she's my only friend!" Deytra objected.
"Listen to him." Jeeran cut in as he placed a hand on Deytra's shoulder.
"You leave me alone!" Deytra yelled as she jumped out of Jeeran's reach.
"Listen to me Deytra, Juru_Garo are dangerous creatures you can't trust them." Treymey tried to persuade Deytra.
"No she's my friend. You may not be able to trust Poes or creatures like that but you can trust a Garo. Haven't you heard of the help Garo's gave Link in his chronicles of Termina!?" Deytra tried to reason with Treymey.
"Juru_Garo's are much different, they're just like Gerudo they can't be trusted." Treymey explained.
"You're lying! Jitsen told me she was going to help Link on way to here!" Deytra yelled.
"She's lying, she's probably telling you that so you'll think she's good." Jeeran cut in again.
Deytra looked crestfallen but in a spilt second looked angered, she unbuttoned the lone button keeping her robe fasten and let it flutter to the floor revealing her aqua tunic that matched her eyes perfectly as she suddenly turned away and ran toward the wall that held Link's famous Kokiri sword and shield, and took them off their hooks. She fastened the belt around her waist that held up the sheath and shield rest in the back, she then hooked the shield on to it and put the sword into the sheath.
"What are you doing!" Jeeran demanded.
"Jitsen told me she was going to Termina! So I'm gonna go there too!" Deytra yelled as she ran through the door out into the market place.
"Follow her Jeeran, Juru_Garo are dangerous, there's no stopping her so just protect her. I'll be fine here at the Temple." Treymey told Jeeran, "I knew from the moment I saw you there would be some reason why the two of you would have to go questing. Now leave."
Jeeran nodded and turned to run out the door.
"Wait Jeeran!" Treymey called, "Take the Master sword and the Mirror Shield with you. Please keep Deytra out of danger."
Jeeran nodded and grabbed the Mirror shield off the wall then ran into the back of the Temple, into the second chamber. He approached the pedestal slowly.
"Hurry boy, she's probably half way out of Hyrule!" Treymey called.
Jeeran quickened his pace and rested his hand on the legendary blade's handle, instantly he felt power surge within him as a glowing spark between the boy's hand and the sword began to grow.
He quivered with excitement as he grunted and pulled out the sword raising it high above his head in triumph, then quickly began running towards the exit.
"Catch boy!" Treymey said as Jeeran turned around and caught the sheath and shield holder belt. He fastened it quickly and shoved the shield and sword into their proper holders.
"Now go! And may luck and fortune befall your quest!" Treymey called after Jeeran as he ran.
"Goodbye sir!" Jeeran called back as he ran out into the town market.
The sword and shield were feeling quite heavy as Jeeran approached the opened gate.
Opened?
The guard at the gate sat on the ground with his helmet at his side, nursing a bump on his head tenderly.
"What had my sister done to you?" Jeeran called to the guard.
"Not much of the sort, that demon child summoned something that bopped me on the head and put me out for a few minute. They must've lowered the gate and high tailed it out of here." The guard said back to him, "Feel free to leave now if that's what's your planning on doing, I wouldn't chase the child though, she summons devils!"
"Jitsen…" Jeeran mumbled as he called thanks to the guard and left the Castle Market.
The sound of humming moths caught Jeeran's ear as he looked over and saw a swarm of them huddled over Deytra who ducked under her Hyilian shield that was much to large for her.
"Deytra!" Jeeran yelled.
"Jeeran? Jeeran! Help me please! Jitsen went to get me help but hasn't returned." Deytra called, "Ouch! They can sting! Jitsen said that they were attracted to my bright colors!"
Jeeran ran forward with the legendary sword drawn and sliced at the moths, but they just slid over the smooth blade causing them no damage.
Jeeran sighed. Then saw glint of light from the very corner of his eye. His Mirror shield!
He took it off his back and aimed it at the torches from the castle. Light reflected off of it and shown brightly in the nighttime.
The moths almost instantly left Deytra and swarmed at Jeeran. Jeeran's eyes opened wide as he dove into the ground and threw the shield over his back.
He heard his sister call, "Jitsen, but that branch over near the moths! Get their attention away from my brother!"
In a split second the moths were off of Jeeran and onto the flaming branch.
Jeeran got up and looked at his sister.
"See, I told you she was nice!" Deytra yelled.
"Where is she?" Jeeran asked as an arm was thrown about his shoulders and a blade was place delicately next to his skin.
"This is pretty real isn't it?" The sound of a cool soft voice said into Jeeran's ear.
The blade was moved and Jitsen moved in front of Jeeran.
Jitsen was a beautiful girl with tan olive skin and beautiful golden eyes outlined with black makeup.
She had jet black hair with a purple tint all pulled up into a high ponytail.
She had dark brown colored lips and black diamond earring in her ears. She wore a gypsy like pants, all black, with gold rims similar to the Gerudo, and a black cutoff top with gold rims. She had vicious looking curved sword in sheaths on her back.
She flew inches above the air hovering and inspecting Jeeran.
"He could be a warrior just like you could Deytra. You have good builds for it." Jitsen flew close to Jeeran and felt his arms, "Very strong…." She cooed.
Jeeran couldn't help think she was beautiful though she was an enemy.
"See she's nice." Deytra insisted.
Before Jeeran could object or accept Jitsen a swarm of Poes swept over the hill not far from the three.
"Oh great.." Jitsen sighed, "Member's of the Poe Clan."
Deytra and Jeeran didn't move, it's not like they had anywhere to move. They sat still and clung to each other, Deytra burying her face in her brother's robe, which now had tatters and holes in it from the moths.
The Poes swept over the two, ignoring them as they headed to the castle entrance.
After they all had gone and made their way into the castle, Jitsen who had disappeared, reappeared.
"Why did you hide and leave us?" Jeeran demanded.
"Because, if they were after anybody, it would be me. You two are fine right now, unless they knew you were headed to Termina. Poes don't like people coming into or out of Termina." Jitsen explained.
"Why would they be after you?" Deytra asked.
"Because the Poe Clan is linked very closely with the Juru_Garo Trybe. I was banned from the Juru_Garo Trybe for letting go a prisoner they planned on torturing, and I knew that the guy knew nothing. I left and made a bad name for all Juru_Garo's by doing good things. So they asked their ally's the Poe Clan if they ever found me, to kill me."
"But why did Treymey say you guys were all bad?" Deytra asked, but her question was never answered.
Jitsen disappeared as the Poes flooded back out of the castle carrying the Goron's Ruby, the Zora's sapphire, and the Gem of the Forest.
The Poes flooded overhead again, but two struggled in the back.
Those two who flew over Jeeran and Deytra last carried Treymey who had a big knot on his head and a trickle of blood coming off his face.
"That must have been him." Jitsen said as she appeared and made the two wide eyed teens jump, "Your friend Treymey was the one I released."

"You mean..." Deytra said with her mouth hanging wide open.
"Yes, Treymey was the man that got me banned from my Trybe. Even though I saved him, the fact that they were going to torture him made him think we're all evil or something." Jitsen replied.
"What in the world could Treymey of possibly done to make the Juru_Garo want to puish him?" Jeeran asked Jitsen.
"Even I don't know the meaning of that, I knew he was innocent when i saw him though. Call it intuition." Jitsen explained, "But what ever it was it doesn't matter right now. We have to save Link first, but if we're lucky, the Poes got him as well so we can get Treymey and Link at the same time."

"How do we get to Termina?" Deytra asked Jitsen.
"If you the land of a mysterious moon you should seek,
Go far into the horizon around deaths peak.
Take winding trails which you'll like at the least,
Compared to the perils of the monsterous beast." Jitsen responded with a sense of mystery in her voice.
"Come on Deytra, even if we understood what in the world she was saying, it wouldn't matter because we're not trusting her!" Jeeran said to his sister.
Deytra stuck out her tongue at him, "We are too! You don't know how to get to Termina now do you!"
Jeeran looked flustered, "Well...no but still..."
"Well if you don't want to go then don't, I'll take Deytra..." Jitsen started.
"Not a chance!" Jeeran growled, "No way I'm leaving Deytra with a demon warrior!"
Jitsen's eye's lit up dangerously. She flew over to Jeeran and hovered a few inches in the air looking him straight in the eye, "What did you call me?"
"A demon." Jeeran said coolly.
"Say that a little louder...." Jitsen whispered as she slid one of her curved swords out of her sheath.
"I said, a demon." Jeeran practically yelled.
"Just because you hold the master sword doesn't mean that you a warrior worthy of it. You wanna prove to us all that you can handle that thing?" Jitsen sneered.
"Is that a challenge?" Jeeran asked.
Deytra fumbled with her sword as she tried to pull it from it's sheath. It fell to the ground clumsily.
Jitsen feet returned to the ground as she grinned viciously, "Go ahead."
Jeeran drew the sword and swung in a chopping motion. He squeezed his eyes tight as he felt the sword hit something, then opened them tentitavely.
"Whahahahaha.... You really proved your self!" Jitsen yelled and hooted as she laughed unmercifully at the sword that laid wedged in the ground by her feet.
Jeeran's eyes opened wide. His hands got sweaty as he gripped the handle tighter and tighter.
"My turn." Jitsen lost her smile as she with drew her second sword from it's sheath.
Jitsen hooked her sword around the master blade and flipped it up into the air and it lay protruding from the ground behind Jitsen. She then lifted up one sword and slammed it down upon.... steel?
She looked at what had stopped her in disbelief.
Deytra stood shaking uncontrolably with her eyes shut tightly as she held up the Kokiri sword, blocking Jitsen's hit.
"Please don't hurt my brother Jitsen...." She stuttered as she kept her eyes shut, "He just doesn't know that not all Juru_Garo's are bad..."
Jitsen quickly sheathed her sword as she reached out and rubbed Deytra's brownish-red hair affectionally, grinning from ear to ear as she winked at the teen who had just opened back up her eyes.
"Whatever you say Deytra." Jitsen said coolly as she started walking towards Karkariko Village.
Jeeran's eyes were wide and his mouth hung open as he look at his sister unbelievably.
"What just happened?" Jeeran said with a stutter.
"Your carcass was about to be strung all over Hyrule field Jeeran." Deytra said smuggly, "Something to know about Jitsen is to trust her, and not to mess with her."
A sharp whistle pierced the two siblings ears as they turned and looked at Jitsen who stood leaning against a small bridges railing, "Let's go!" She called.
"Where!" Jeeran said back with disdain in his voice.
"You're joining us, eh? Well we're going to death's peak!" Jitsen replied.
"Where?" Deytra asked.
"Death mountain, child. Death mountain!" Jitsen called merrily.
Deytra smiled at Jeeran as she skipped off towards the bridge.
Jeeran jogged behind her, gritting his teeth.
Jitsen sat on the bridge examining her nails and whistling to herself. She watched Jeeran who arrived at the bridge moments after Deytra.
"You're coming?" Jitsen said in an irratating tone.
"Of course, I'll meet you at the top and wonder what's keeping you?" Jeeran said to Jitsen in high spirits.
"What do you mean?" Jitsen said leaning back slightly on the bridge as she crossed her legs and put her hands over them.
Deytra smiled as she looked back at her brother who grinned at her.
"This!" Jeeran yelled as he pushed Jitsen over the railing into the water, and him and Deytra ran to the entrance of Karkariko Village.
Jitsen surfaced from out of the water and blew a piece of wet stay hair out of her face. She gritted her teeth and growled at Jeeran and Deytra as they disappeared around the corner.
"That's what you think!" Jitsen yelled as she flew out of the water and soared straight into Kakariko Village after the two.
Jitsen entered the village soaking wet as she caught up with Deytra and Jeeran who sat waiting leaning against a tree.
Jitsen growled as she approached them and began wringing water from her totally saturated hair.
Deytra breathed heavily, "You're pretty fast, I was running my hardest and you still caught up with us quick."
Jitsen shivered in the night air, "Now I'm going to freeze to death. How do you guys expect to save Link and Treymey without me?" Jitsen asked as she put her hands on her hips and stared at the two.
Jeeran stood up and removed his tattered and moth biten robe, revealing his white tunic that made his orange and brown hair stand out.
He threw it too Jitsen as he stared off into the dark and empty village colly.
Jitsen smiled warmly and put on the temple robe.
Deytra squinted one eye as she looked at the two but forgot about it as a chicken ran past her clucking loudly.
"No please come back!" A woman yelled as she chased after the bird.
Jitsen took action immidiately and took off after the bird, flying quickly and losing distance between her and the bird in short time.
Jitsen held the bird in her arms triumphantly within moments.
The woman struggled to catch her breath as she smiled, "Oh, thank you.... I was just hearding in the last chicken when it escaped and began running amuk. Oh, I'm sorry to be so rude. My name is Anjulina. Daughter of Kafei and Anju, the keepers of the Stock Pot Inn in Termina." The woman said warmly.
She was about twenty-nine with purple hair and green eyes that matched her green dress and apron nicely.
"Hi I'm Jitsen." Jitsen said quietly hoping the talkative woman wouldn't pry further about her being out at all hours of the evening.
"You're out quite late..." Anjulina said as Jeeran and Deytra ran up to also meet the woman, "Oh hello friends of Jitsen's?" The woman said to the two teens.
"Yes I'm Jeeran and this is Deytra, we're traveling up Death Mountain to, uh..... Visit a brother who's training with the Gorons. Our Mother has instructed us to take him back home to..... uh..." Jeeran stuttered.
"Back to Lon Lon Ranch. Our Mother helps run the place." Deytra cut in, saving Jeeran.
"Oh, so you're friends of Meera and Meero, Talon's grandchildren. Oh me and Malon go way back. Since I lived here I've known her. Oh how rude of me, you must stay at my place as a reward for saving my chicken. Although it's only a two bedroom place...." Anjulina said.
"It's fine, me and Jeeran will sleep on the floor." Jitsen said finally deciding to talk.
"That's good." Anjulina nodded, "Here follow me."
Anjulina led them into the house. A pen with a cow and ten chicken running around sat in the corner. Otherwise that the house was empty. She obviously lived alone and loved to talk to others.
Anjulina fed them some tomato soup and rolled our blankets on the floor for Jeeran and Jitsen.
After dinner they sleep, gracious to be in a bed and out of talking range with that yappy woman, though they felt bad for her.
Well Jeeran, Deytra and Anjulina slept, Jitsen did not.
She feared the next day, and what going around the mountain side would bring for Deytra.
She worried not for herself and little for Jeeran, but felt responsible for Deytra for she was they only one who could wield a weapon.
With all the thoughts rushing around Jitsen's head, she had no time for dreams when sleep eventually came, but somehow still looked fearful all through the night.

In the morn the travelers set about climbing Death Mountain trail.
They waved farewell to Anjulina, who had gotten up early to make her guests a special breakfast, and to pack their supplies.
They had never seen a sadder look on anyones face when they left Anjulina's house, but they had to, and they couldn't take staying there any longer with the talkative woman.
Deytra stood a few paces back behind Jitsen and Jeeran. She walked slower and fell behind quickly as she saw what was in front of the path.
"What's wrong Deytra? Why the long face?" Jitsen asked as she paused and looked back at her friend.
"Look ahead. There's those spider things ahead. I left the Temple so quickly, I didn't even bother to realize that I had no fighting skills... I couldn't face a spider let alone Poes or something like that....." Deytra frowned.
"It's Ok to be scared Deytra..." Jeeran began, "I don't have any fighting skills either, but I'm going all this way with you so we can save Link and Treymey. We have Jitsen along with us, we should be fine."
Deytra still looked apprehensive, "Can you really protect us Jitsen... Jitsen?" Jitsen wasn't in front of her anymore. Instead she was way in front on the path, pulling a big weed from the side of the path and using it to clean the slime off her blade. Behind her was a spider, slit right down the middle, laying in a puddle of green blood.
"Yeah she can." Jeeran said reassuringly.
Deytra's face britened and she skipped quickly down the path and approached Jitsen.
"Jeeran was right! You can protect us!" She declared.
