Link's Destiny: by Mystery Man

Prologue

From Hyrule Castle Courtyard, Link would be seen by a guard before ever getting to talk to Zelda. He would be thrown out of the castle for good, and wonder around trying to find a place to fit in, since he now knew he was no longer Kokiri. Despite everything, Navi sticks around and tries to comfort Link as best as she can. Soon Link finds a home - With the Gerudo. They take him under their wings and teach him the lessons of survival. Training with different weapons
in the Gerudo Training Grounds, horseback riding around the archery course. After his training,
Link sets off to find his destiny. Ganondorf has slowly taken over Hyrule, and Link finds himself
in battle a lot. One night he was walking around Hyrule Field when he fell into a hole. He found
himself outside of a large Castle, but this was like no Castle he had ever seen. Archer slots
surrounding the top of the castle. A draw-bridge over a moat that contains spikes disguised by
murky water. The castle itself had an aged look to it. The drawbridge happened to be down, so
he went inside.

--Chapter 1

As Link walked into castle gates, he felt odd, almost like something bad had happened in this
castle, but he wasn't sure what. He reached behind his back feeling the twin swords that his
Gerudo up-brings had given him just to reassure himself. He edged down the hall, making sure
to be as quiet as possible. Not knowing what lie ahead, he peered around the corner he was
now standing at. He saw someone, some THING approaching. He quickly swung back around
the corner and flattened himself against the wall. The beast passed right by him. Instead of
wondering around all day and getting lost, he decided to follow this thing. Keeping low and in
the shadows, Link made sure not to lose sight of the beast. They came upon a door, which
appeared locked. After a sequenced pattern of knocks, the door opened and the beast went
through. Link pulled out a Deku Seed, and as the door was about to close, he ran through,
setting the Deku Seed against the frame, so as to leave the door slightly ajar; a precautionary
effort, if need be later. Inside was yet another hallway, this one very elaborate. Candelabras
lined the walls. Tiled floor, buffed to perfection. There were doors every 10 or so feet, Link was
not sure where they led to, but he wasn't too sure he wanted to, either. He glanced down the
hall, and saw the beast walking beside a man in all black, with long hair and a sword sheathed
on his left hip, meaning he was obviously right-handed. That was all he could tell. He started
down the hall after them, staying in the shadows as much as possible. He had almost reached
near the halfway point of the hall when the two he was pursuing turned around; Link had little
time to think. In one quick motion, he slung open one of the doors and rolled inside, shutting it
as he came out of the roll.

When he was able to get back to his feet, he looked around the room. A bed, in the far corner,
roughly made up. A table standing next to it, had a lamp on it. A fireplace, built into the wall to
his right, was lit. He was in someone's living quarters. Link strolled over to the side of the room
with the bed. Lying in the center was a hand-written letter. Link picked it up and began to
read.

You're Highness,

The time has come for our plan to go into action. Meet me in the
courtyard at dawn and we will talk.

Signed,
The Prince of Thieves.

Link was astonished at what he was reading. "You're Highness" "Prince of Thieves" Those were
the two most powerful of men in Hyrule. The King, and Ganondorf! Although Link had been
raised by Gerudos, they revolted at the acts that Ganondorf has performed. He was murdering
innocent people just so he could get more power. The whole time Link had thought the King
was against him. Now he didn't know what to think. Link looked out the window and saw the
first few signs of morning approaching and thought to himself: "I've got to do something. I have
got to get to the Courtyard!" He went back across the room, and slowly opened the door.
Realizing no one was there waiting for him, he peered down the hall, both directions. He saw no
one. He walked out, closing the door behind him, then ran back to the door in which he placed
the Deku Seed.

--Chapter 2

As he reached the door, he noticed that there was no longer a crack. Someone had stolen his
Deku Seed, and took away his only chance of escape. He tried the door, hoping it was
unlocked; no such luck. His only hope was to turn the other way and go down the long
corridor. Again, he crouched low in the shadows as he moved along the hall, despite the fact
that no one was there to see him, anyhow. As he reached the end, he noticed another hallway,
going in each direction. However, he also noticed a rather large, wooden door in front of him.
He had to make a choice: door, left, or right. He chose the door, but only to see if it was
unlocked. It was. He opened it a bit, and peered inside. But what he thought was inside was
actually outside. He had reached the courtyard, unknowingly as it may be. He opened the door
wider until he could squeeze through. Once outside, he took notice that there was an identical
door in the center of each surrounding wall. He thought to himself "Four ways of escape if need
be." He looked at the sky. Dawn was nearing, at that same time he remembered the letter lying
on the bed. "Meet me in the courtyard at dawn and we will talk." He had only a little time. He
glanced around the courtyard. A pool in the center with a fountain, chairs idly sitting around it.
Squarely cut hedges running around it, with an opening for walking at the same place each door
was in the walls. He scanned the walls. Each corner was dark with shadow. He had an idea.
He ran to the nearest corner, and took off his shield. His Deku Shield, made from wood from
the forest was dark in color, it would blend him in with the shadows. He crouched down and
put the shield in front of him, just as a door across the yard opened.

The King of Hyrule stepped out into the yard and strode to the center, next to the pool. He
took a seat in one of the elaborate chairs, crossed his legs, then started pulling on his beard. He
seemed nervous, waiting like that. Link watched him for a good ten minutes or so until another
door, opposite of the one the King had come through opened. Ganondorf, the evil thief, the
Prince of Thieves as he had become, stepped out. He seemed to glide along, his pure black
cape waving behind him. The King stood up to honor his presence, and took a bow. Ganondorf
put his hand into the air, and a white ball of energy formed inches above it. It grew until it was
rather large, and then an image was somehow projected onto it. It was Link! He couldn't
believe it. He leaned forward to get a closer look, and when he did, the shield bumped the wall.
Ganondorf and the King both shot looks over at Link. In an instant, Link pulled out a Deku
Nut, threw it sending off a bright flash, and vanished through the nearest door. He didn't know
where he was, or where he was going, all he knew was that he was being followed, and had to
get away.

--Chapter 3

Running wildly through the dark twists and turns of the castle, Link had very little time to think.
He would turn a corner here, go around a bend there, all as it came along. He didn't know
where he was. All he knew was that he was deep inside the castle, with a limited amount of time
before he would be found. He happened to turn down a corridor that harvested doors every
few feet - exactly like the hall where he followed the unknown beast into. He had to make a
choice. Keep running around a castle of which he did not know the layout of, or hide in a room
hoping he was not found. He chose the latter, and ducked into a room. Luckily, there were no
occupants. He grabbed a chair, and was about to slide it under the knob, when he realized
seeing as how these door swings out - unlike the other hall - , it would not work. He had to
think of something to block off the door with. He pulled out one of this twin swords, and
jammed it into the side of the door with the hinges. He thought to himself "With it being so
dark outside the room, they may not notice the end of the sword sticking out." With that,
he decided to dive under the bed, simply as another precautionary action to take against his
pursuers. He silently waited. A few minutes later, sure enough, he heard a rattling at the door.

He heard one of the guards talking. "ƒØ؃ƒ‡ØƒƒØ؃‡Øƒƒ" Fortunately, Link knew
enough of the ancient Hyrulian Language to make it out. He translated as best as he could.

"Door... jammed... can't... open." His little sword trick had worked, for the time being.

He then heard what sounded like Ganondorf yell out, "Forget it FOOL, you are wasting time,
on to the next room" Link sighed a breath of relief. He was safe, for now. He crept out from
under the bed, and made his way to the door. He slowly pulled out his sword, and sheathed it.
He slowly opened the door enough to peer down the hall, then looked around the door, to look
up the hall. The coast was clear. He made his way down the hall - where he thought Ganondorf
had gone - that way he would stumble upon then, not the other way around. He wanted to
leave the castle for good, but he thought if he did, he might not find the hole from which he fell
the night before. He was tired, and hadn't had sleep in at least a day. He reached the end of the
hall. Luckily, this one didn't have another hall running in both direction, so he just took a left, his
only choice. Due to the lack of sleep, he was running low on energy. Navi, who had been
hiding in one of the pockets on his tunic, came out, and using her granted fairy powers, healed
Link. He was ready to go again, and told Navi she could return to her place of hiding. He was
walking along, trying to stay low, and in the shadows so he wouldn't be seen in case he did
creep up onto the evil thief and his minions. Suddenly, three Stalfos Knights jumped out of no
where. Link, as more of a swift motion, than taking the time to actually think of pulling then out,
had his sword out and was slashing away at the first of the Knights, he was done in no time. He
moved to the second, moving like clockwork. It was as a dance, his swords swiping, the
Knights dodging here, attacking there. It was all one swift movement. That is how it was with
Stalfos. They were excellent swordsmen, and could put up a good fight. The two remaining
started teaming up on Link. Link moved in and out of them using the reverberation of a swipe
on one to hit the other in one move. The two Stalfos then came at him, one from each side. He
stopped his fluid movement, and concentrated. Seconds later a burst of fire surrounded him.
He had summoned Din's Fire to finish the fight, leaving the Knights in ashes.

He sheathed his swords, and moved on, acting as if nothing happened. This particular corridor
dumped out into a massive room. It had pillars supporting the roof, and a red carpet leading up
to a chair. In which sat a large beast, totally clothed in armor. The monster stood up, and drew
his battle ax. Link summoned the spell, Nayru's Love, pulled out his swords, and readied for
battle.
