Majora's Return: By: Jacob Paul Hasty

Part 2- “Majora’s Tower”

Link looked up at the tower in awe, no way would that be a one-day trip. And Link was sure that the tower was swarming with Ganondorf’s henchmen. All the Sages looked around with uneasiness and Saria softly told Link, “ We should get going; something’s approaching this spot.” Link and the Sages all ran back into the woods and hid in the bushes. They all looked at the cliff at the mouth of the forest, looking for what was approaching. Nabooru then saw that one of her head-cloths was lying there. She looked around; then bolted out and grabbed her head-cloth. She put it on and ran back into her cover. As soon as she got back into her cover in the forest, the air grew thick with a dark presence. Then from the air came a glowing red orb! The orb glowed intensely and blew into pieces revealing Ganondorf with a huge flaming sword. Ganondorf glared around and put his sword back in the sheath on his back. Link slowly pulled out his bow, and shot a Light Arrow right between Ganondorf’s shoulders. Ganondorf fell stunned to the ground; giving Link the perfect attack time. Link gave Ganondorf a huge slice across the chest and another on his face! Ganondorf then got up off the ground and pulled out his sword from its monstrous sheath. Ganondorf then charged Link with his flaming blade and with his fists punching. A huge building came from the ground all around the two covering them. Link pulled out his shield and drew his sword; Ganondorf was going to die again! Link blocked Ganondorf’s punch, and delivered a massive attack on Ganondorf’s head! Ganondorf flew above Link and rubbed his head, “Ouch, you’ve gotten better kid. But so have I!” Ganondorf released a wave of dark-violet light on Link out of his jewel that was around his head. Link started to feel odd; his shield dropped to the floor from no movement in his hand. “Pretty soon you’ll lose feeling in your legs, then you’re whole body will go limp. I feel bad I didn’t use this spell on you in our last battle that one year ago.” Ganondorf picked up the now wearily dazed Link and threw him across the room smashing him into a wall. He then picked up Link’s shield and crushed it between his fingers. Link started to go dizzy; but he couldn’t let Ganondorf win. Link pulled out his Ocarina and played a song for himself; the “Song of Storms”. After playing those notes a ray of light shined around Link and removed the curse from Link’s body. Ganondorf screamed out, “YAAAAA! Not the song of the clouds! I knew I should’ve had those maestro brothers killed before they made their song. Curse the maestro brothers Sharp and Flat!!! Curse you both to the eternal torture of Hell you deserve for making a song that would foil the plans of the great Ganondorf!!!” Link seized Ganondorf’s griping as an attack opportunity. Link ran up to Ganondorf and buried the Master Sword in Ganondorf’s forehead with all his might! “NO… NO… This …cannot be! The great Ganondorf… beaten by a child… again!? NNOOOOOO!!!” Ganondorf’s body slowly shriveled up into bubbling swirling slime and ooze. But as expected; it wasn’t over yet with Link and Ganondorf. All the remains of Ganondorf shot up into the air and started to join into each other. In a bright flash; there stood the feared and awesome… GANON. Ganon looked nothing like Link remembered at all; Ganon was nothing but bones and some bits of rotten flesh. But they were big bones; along with large blood-red eyes in a disfigured skull. There stood was the true form of the Emperor of Darkness, the Master of Monsters: Ganon. Link shakily pulled out an arrow from his quiver and fired a Light Arrow in Ganon’s face. Ganon didn’t even try to dodge the arrow; it had no effect on him now. Ganon stood there, staring at Link. Then Ganon held out his palms and suddenly a sword the size of Link appeared in his hands! Link compared his odds and knew of only one thing to do, “Sages!!!” Suddenly all of the Sages came crashing from the walls and all encircled Ganon. Ganon nervously looked around him and knew that the Sages were going to be a bother. All the Sages pointed their hands at Ganon and covered Ganon in an array of all the colors in the rainbow. Rauru looked down upon Link and yelled out, “Link now is the time!” Link slashed the ensnared monster with the Master Sword right through the skull! But it had no effect on him! Link slashed all over Ganon’s body; but the beast wasn’t taking any damage! Ganon broke free of the Sages barrier and attacked the Sage of Fire: Darunia. Bad choice. Darunia blocked Ganon slash and gave Ganon a crushing Goron slam punch right in the ribs! Ganon blew into tons of pieces with that hard blow from Darunia; bones all over the floor from Ganon’s body. Link and all the Sages grabbed a major body piece of Ganon’s body and attacked their pieces trying to kill off Ganon. But none of them could do any damage to Ganon at all. Ganon’s body bits then rejoined together and formed Ganon’s structure. Ganon then attacked the Sage of the Forest: Saria! Saria being the youngest and smallest of the Sages, easily dodged Ganon’s huge sword. Impa then came up behind Ganon and gave him a hard kick in the back. Rauru then blasted Ganon in the skull with a powerful beam from his palm. Ganon fell down to the ground in deep shock from the blast. Link then came up with the Master Sword and held it above Ganon’s head. Link asked the Sages, “Can you work with the Master Sword?” The Sages all fired their beams into the Master Sword and out of the Master Sword’s tip came an intense golden glow that absorbed Ganon! And in a huge burst of light; a golden triangle appeared above the Master Sword. Ganon cried out, “NO!!! My Triforce of Power! No, no, no!!!” Link held out his hand and felt the warm feeling of power being embedded on the back of his hand. Now Link had two pieces of the Triforce! With this new power; his slim chances of defeating Majora and Onox were now way less slim! Ganon then slowly faded away screaming in rage and anguish, “NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Curse you Sages… curse you Link!!!” Then with that Ganon was gone.

All the Sages let loose a sigh of relief along with Link. Link put away his weapons and exited the room through one of the holes the Sages made entering the place. Saria quickly zapped up a shield for Link and caught up with the group. After hours of walking, the group found the main gate and scaled it into the fortress of Majora. They all hid and studied the situation: Re-deads were everywhere; but Link with the Triforce of Power couldn’t be stunned by their scream! Link drew out his sword and he with the Sages all charged through the army of the un-dead beings; destroying anything that got in their way. The group cleared a path through the flanks of the Re-deads with ease and swiftness. After clearing the Re-deads; the group found themselves near the base of the enormous tower. Impa looked up in the air and told everyone, “We’ve got company.” The ground grew boiling hot and turned as red as coals in blue flame. And up in the air, the ancient dragon of Death Mountain swooped down; the ancient dragon Volvagia. Volvagia charged at Link with his teeth shining in his fiery mane! Volvagia smashed Link into the ground with his powerful skull. He then clamped onto the Master Sword and shook Link like a child’s toy! Link starting to grow dizzy, grabbed onto Volvagia’s horns and shoved the Master Sword into Volvagia’s left eye with tremendous force! Volvagia dropped Link and let loose an ear-splitting screech of pain as blood gushed out of his eye. While Volvagia was down, Link pulled out his Megaton Hammer and lept at Volvagia. Volvagia wasn’t going to die for a third time, he let loose a burst of flame as Link came closer to him. Link ignored the flame and brought down the hammer upon Volvagia’s head with all his might! WHAM!!! Volvagia was knocked senseless with that blow to his head. Link struck again and again with the Megaton Hammer on Volvagia’s face! Link kept striking until Volvagia’s head was nothing but pulp and blood at the end of a flaming neck. Volvagia was dead; but the battle wasn’t over. Out of the ground came the Shadow Boss: Bongo Bongo. Bongo looked at Link with his one huge eye in fury. Link quickly pulled out a Light Arrow and launched it into Bongos iris. Bongo fell to the floor in shock and pain; he had never felt the sting of a Light Arrow before. Link slashed Bongos eye to globs of bloody jelly with his sword. Then Link shoved a bomb in the now-empty eye socket and headed for cover. BOOOOM!!! Body bits flew everywhere all over the area! But Bongo wasn’t down yet; he spun in fury with the last of his strength hoping to hit Link with his dismembered fists. But he hit everything else; the spinning Bongo wrecked buildings, Re-deads, and bits of the outer-wall of Majora’s kingdom! Bongo then froze stiff, and fell dead to the ground with a loud thud. Link looked at the back of his hand and muttered, “Wow, these guys are simple with the Triforce of Power.”

Then in a flash of light, a new foe arrived. The monster looked down upon Link with lightning crashing behind him. It was Phantom Ganon, and he was a lot tougher than the last time they met in the Forest Temple. “Because of you Link, I was banished to the Zone Between Dimensions! But this time it will be you going into the darkness!” P. Ganon grabbed Link with his huge hands and smashed him into the tower wall. “I’m your final judge Link, if you beat me, you will gain entrance into the Lord Majora’s tower.” Link freed his arm from P. Ganon’s grip and sank the Master Sword into his arm! “YAAAAAAAAAAA!!! That blade! I remember that sting! You wield the Master Sword as a child!? Impossible! Only one worthy of the title and age as ‘Hero’ can wield that sword!” P. Ganon gasped. Link chuckled weakly and shouted to P. Ganon, “Maybe I’m going to be a Hero again!” P. Ganon shuddered, that couldn’t happen. P. Ganon then slammed Link into the stone ground and torched him with a beam from his chest! Link pulled out his shield and stopped any further pain. As soon as P. Ganon stopped attacking Link with his ray, Link slammed P. Ganon in the chest with the Megaton Hammer; he slammed him so hard that P. Ganon fell onto the ground and his swords went flying in the air! P. Ganon quickly got up but Link slammed him again in the leg this time! While P. Ganon was down again, Link pulled the Master Sword out of the monster’s arm and then wedged it into his face right in between the eyes! P. Ganon leaped up and screamed out in pain. Blood covered his face and the Master Sword had buried itself in his skull! But P. Ganon was tougher than the rest of the gatekeepers; he pulled the Master Sword out of his skull and launched it at Link! Link dodged the Master Sword and pulled out a Bombchu! Link set the Bombchu on the ground and watched as it crawled up P. Ganon’s leg and on his face. FOOOM!!! Bits of bone and brain flew out from P. Ganon’s face. When the smoke cleared, all of P. Ganon’s head was gone. Blood squirted out of his neck along with pumping out a horrible stench. But P. Ganon was still alive; he observed his condition and FLASH! There stood Phantom Ganon in his original form. P. Ganon then lugged his blade at Link with full force. Link got nicked in the leg, but it wasn’t too bad. P. Ganon then let loose an energy ball at Link with great speed. Link struck the on coming energy ball with the Master Sword and sent it back upon P. Ganon! P. Ganon was unprepared to send it back upon Link since he threw his spear at Link. P. Ganon was instantly hit by his energy ball and fell to the ground robed in painful dark energy. Link then plowed the Master Sword into P. Ganon’s back and smashed his head to pulp with the Megaton Hammer! Link also rolled a few lit bombs In P. Ganon’s cape and KABOOM!!! Watched the body parts fly all over the place! Then behind the group, a huge door opened revealing a gigantic staircase that coiled up the tower. Link ran towards the tower along with all the Sages behind him. Suddenly in all the excitement; the sky blackened and swirled. Then huge fireballs came pouring down from the air! The closer the group got to the tower, the more fireballs came down! But after hours of dodging flame from the sky, the group made it to the tower entrance. They all agreed that they would continue in the morning the next day. So the Sages all made a small protective barrier around themselves, but Saria and Link just slept in the same barrier. “Link,” Saria asked, “How did you get this brave?” Link replied, “I’ve always just had an adventurous spirit inside of me. And I’m a predestined Hero, so all my life I’ve just felt that I’d need my courage for an occasion in the future. And with your life on the line, I won’t wimp out. Because if I fail, the world is doomed unless you Sages think you can take on Onox and Majora! But with none of you as a Hero, I don’t think you would succeed in doing that.” Saria smiled and gave Link a good night kiss. When they both got comfy and started to doze off Link heard Saria’s small voice, “I wish I was like you…”

The next morning, the group woke up and continued their journey. They all started up the steps and walked, and walked, and walked, and walked some more. “Grrrrr! This is so annoying! How long does this staircase go!?” Link moaned. Darunia picked Link up and rested him up on his shoulders. Darunia smiled and cheerfully reminded Link, “Hey brother. At least we’re not fighting at the moment; besides, you need to save your strength for the next battle!” So the group kept walking up the endless stairs for a few more hours until they all heard some music coming from the wall. The music was the “Oath to Order” melody! Only one skilled in music could play such a melody. The ground started to rumble as the music got closer; the tempo sped up, and the group felt an evil presence approaching! “Run everybody!” Impa ordered to the group. They all ran with all their might, but the music was still approaching them! The walls started to break apart, also the floor! The group had to avoid gaping hole that formed in the stairs. After running for an hour, the group reached the top of the tower! It was a wide open space miles up off the ground and covered in grass, and tree trunks speckled the ground. Mountains pointed out of the ground; it was a whole new kingdom! The music finally stopped; but the rumbling intensified until… CRASH!!! Onox came smashing from the center of the tower roof; around his waist was a large organ with gold pipes extending dozens of feet in the air! FLASH!!! There stood Majora above Onox! Onox looked up at Majora and asked, “What do you want me to do?” Majora wedged his hand in the back of Onox’s head and ripped out his spinal cord from his body! Majora then let out a yell that sounded like a chorus of demons from Hell! In a swirl of smoke around the two; Majora sent a bolt of lightning down upon himself and Onox’s dead body. FLASH!!! Majora stood there in a bright golden vest, and huge mace in his hand, and the mask was now brazened with a silver shimmer of the moon! “BAH! That fool wouldn’t stand a chance against you anyway. Now let’s finish this Hero!” Majora then noticed the back of Link’s hand; he had the Triforce of Power! NO!!! “Gulp! How did you get that!?!?!? NOOOOO!!! That fool Ganondorf! GRRRRRR!!! Fine; let’s just f-fight!!!”

Link and all the Sages got ready for one last fight. The Sages all fired at Majora but he easily avoided their attack. Link then swiped at Majora, but every attack the group sent his way, he dodged. Majora swung his mace at Saria, instantly she was knocked unconscious. While doing this, Link pulled out a Light Arrow and struck Majora in the back of the head! Link slashed Majora in the mask while he was stunned with deep fury! Nobody harmed Saria without paying for it! Majora quickly got up after a few slashes in the head from Link and snapped his finger at him. Then from the ground came a Dodongo and a few Stalfos with their swords drawn! Link smiled, a piece of cake! Link blew the Stalfos in pieces, and hacked the Dodongo’s head right off! Majora then threw an energy ball at Link with full force. But Link sent it back to Majora. Majora and Link played “Hot Potato” with the energy ball until Link fumbled and was struck with the painful evil energy. Majora then flew over to Link and kicked across the tower top to the very edge! Majora held Link over the edge of the tower by the throat! The wind and rain grew! Lightning filled the sky along with an evil mist! Majora then held Link farther over the edge and… let go! Link fell down, down, down into the endless darkness. “NO!” screamed Saria [who had just woke up]. Saria jumped on Majora’s back and flooded Majora’s body with Sage energy! Majora groaned in pain from the inside, but a Sage wasn’t enough to ruin Majora’s plans! Majora grabbed Saria by the throat and knocked her into the ground until she was knocked senseless from the pain. Darunia then punched Majora in the chest with a hard Goron Slam. But Majora fought the pain he felt and sent a surge of darkness through Darunia’s body! Majora then knocked out the rest of the Sages with a wave of evil energy! When all the Sages were down, Majora collapsed from exhaustion and rested on the muddy floor.

Link woke up feeling woozy, no doubt. Since he had fallen from the world’s largest building. Link looked at what he landed on; mud! Soft mud saved the Hero of Time! Link then looked in the air, the sun was out!? The weather was sure odd near the tower. Link got up and slowly limped up the tower staircase. When he started up the stairs he saw princess Ruto! “How Link!? How did you survive that fall!?” Ruto asked breathlessly. Link, too weak to talk, just shrugged his shoulders at Ruto. “Oh well, it doesn’t matter anyway. All of the Sages are injured badly. I’m the only one who escaped. But now that I’m to weak to fight anyway, I’ll use the last of my strength to get you to the top of the tower!” And in a flash they were both at the top of Majora’s tower. Link moaned from the deep pain inside himself from the fall and the guardians of the tower gate. And he was a mess; this was all too much for an 11 year-old! Link then spotted Majora lying on the ground in the pouring sunshine. He limped over to Majora and with all his might, thrusted the Master Sword into Majora’s chest! Majora let out a small “URK” but got up and pulled the Master Sword out of his chest. Majora then grabbed Link by the head and threw Link into the dead carcass of the Dodongo that Link killed earlier fighting Majora. Majora then ripped a chunk out of the Dodongo’s dead hide above Link’s head, and watched as Link got covered in Dodongo blood. Link helplessly watched as Majora mockingly laughed at him while blood covered his whole body. But then Majora stopped laughing and rubbed the gash in his chest that Link gave him. While Majora did so, Link lit a Bombchu and sent it towards Majora. FOOOM!!! The Bombchu blew the mask right off Majora! Majora then shrank in size and shape and too the form of a… Skull Child!!! An innocent looking black faced Skull Child! Majora chuckled; this wasn’t his best trick, but a good trick if it fooled the Hero of Time! While Link was puzzled at the sight of a Skull Child, Majora shot a wave of darkness through Link’s body! “You Imp! My Skull Child trick always fools my enemies!” Majora looked around and told Link as he put his mask back on, “Isn’t my tower a wondrous place! I made it to replicate both Hyrule Field and the Lost Woods! Both places are wonderful and marvelous in their own ways. Enough of this, it’s time to die Link!” Majora punched Link in the face with such force that the whole Dodongo’s body shook with a jolt! Majora then took Link’s bow and fired an arrow into Link’s leg. Link yelled out in pain, it was too much! Darunia got up groaning then looked at Link, “I’m coming brother!” Darunia didn’t even get to strike at Majora; Majora sapped Darunia with millions of volts of electricity from his fingertips! But Zelda then got up and shouted to all the just waking Sages, “Now! He’s weak enough!” Darunia struggled to get up, but he did; then all the Sages charged Majora! Majora left Link and fought off the Sages. BAM! POW! Two hits from Darunia and Impa! Majora zapped them both, but while he was busy with them, Zelda shot out a bright golden light and fried Majora in the back! Before Majora could harm Zelda, Nabooru kicked Majora in the chest. Rauru then shot a blazing light right into Majora’s face! But Majora took all this and was still attacking! He blasted Rauru and Ruto with an energy ball, and punched Darunia, Impa, and Zelda into the ground with crushing blows! Nabooru then took a bomb from Link and threw it at Majora. FOOM!!! Majora was blown back off the tower as hard as a million Goron punches! Nabooru along with Saria waited with bombs ready for Majora to come back. Majora wearily climbed over the edge and saw two black balls with a short fuse waiting for him at the top! “NOOOOO!!!” KA-BOOM!!! Majora was blown up into the air and landed in front of Link with a tremendous thud! Link slowly got up and with the help of Nabooru and Saria, then he lifted the Master Sword above Majora’s head and with the enemy weak, Link shoved the Master Sword straight through Majora’s body like a kabob! “AAAAIIIIEEEEEE!!! Majora shrieked with a loud booming howl, “Curse you… Link… curse you… Sages! Curse you all to the fiery pits of He-…” In a flash he was gone. “No Majora, only one going to Hell is you.” then Link sat down and rested with Saria. Saria waved her fingers wearily in front of Link’s eyes and sent him to sleep instantly. All the Sages got up and looked down at the Mask of Majora. They all grabbed a section of it and ripped it into seven pieces. Darunia then started a fire and tossed the mask into it and all the Sages watched it burn with glee.

Link woke up and sorely looked around, they were all still on the tower. Saria rushed up to him and gave him a big hug. “Link, you did it!” Saria said to Link with a bright smile. “No Saria, we all did it; without you guys, I’d never would’ve made it past Ganon!” Link tried to get up, but he couldn’t move his legs! He tried again, but his legs were too sore to move. He didn’t care though, he was happy with Saria there with him safe and sound. Saria gave Link some bread and tea. “It’s all we have, but when we get back to Termina, it will be great!” Link grabbed Saria by the shoulder, “No… when we get back to Hyrule. It will be perfect for us, but we need to fix it.” The sky shone sunshine and all the darkness in the land faded away back to the Realm of Darkness. All the Sages felt better as soon as the evil had left the land. Peace had returned to the land of the to-be Hyrule. All the surviving monsters shriveled up in the glory and majesty of the light piercing through the crumbling darkness. The tower slowly sank to ground level and formed a new Hyrule field and a brand new Lost Woods. Saria giggled and told Link, “You are a horrible mess! And that Dodongo blood is starting to smell.” Rauru and Darunia took Link to the nearest pool of water to wash him up. While Saria washed out Link’s clothes on the other side of the small pond. Link thought to himself, “This is proof that I’ve been with these guys to long.” Saria returned with Link’s clothes and all the girls turned away as the guys dressed Link. “This is why the Sage group needs more men in it.” Rauru chuckled.

The group then went to the ruins of the Temple of Time, a hopeless mess. “What a shame this is, I took part in making this temple.” Rauru stated. Link told the group, “We must find the pedestal for the Master Sword!” The group searched around for the Pedestal of Time in the ruins and finally after searching all morning, Impa found it. Rauru set the pedestal on the alter so Link could put the Mater Sword back in it’s place. All the Sages kneeled as Link wearily approached the alter [with Sarias help]. Link put the Master Sword back in the Pedestal of Time with ease. Zelda’s hand suddenly glowed along with Link’s! The Tri-force left the both of them and rejoined together above the Master Sword. A soft voice whispered into Link’s ear, “Your command? Flesh may not become flesh again for the second time, but nature itself and the structure of living work and labor will prevail.” Suddenly the entire kingdom of new-Hyrule lit up! Rubble and wreckage morphed into their original state before the war! Buildings popped up along with other structures. But as the Tri-force said, no flesh was returned but the flesh that has remained alive. The Sages all looked in agreement and they all held hands in a meditation. A big stream of leaves and fairies came from the center of the Sages and landed upon the spot where Kokiri Forest was! Rauru looked at Link and told him with glee, “All your forest friends are back! They were the only ones we could bring back sadly; but Hyrule shall start anew! And you are still the Hero of Time, also you shall be known as Hero of Hyrule!” And with that, all the Sages faded away except for Saria. Link and Saria both walked through Hyrule field and into Kokiri Forest. All the Kokiri were waiting for them, and when they arrived, a huge party was thrown. “Funny,” Link told Saria, “After my last party, I had to save the kingdom.” But since Link got very little sleep on their journey, he missed half the party.

Then, the week after, the old man in the green robes returned. He muttered to Link with a smile on his face, “A Hero returns from his quest, the entire kingdom is now at rest; gone is the evil from this land, for it was vanquished by the mighty band; with the Hero- power of two and the princess- power of one, they both traded in desolation for a beautiful rising sun; the Hero and his loved ones are here, for the Hero of Hyrule let’s all give a cheer! But the troubles are not yet over son, you will see a king from a land outside of this one. You will strike down your foe with the face, but he will return after his tool is erased; but go out and party for now, evil will come when least expected and that is my solemn vow.”

Zelda sold Links home in Termina and withdrawaled all of his money in his account. Link had a bunch of money, good friends, and a now safe kingdom to live in. Link then contently went to sleep, and had another odd dream.

Link looked around and saw flame, Poes with long spears, and chains all over the place. He looked at himself and it looked like a purple barrier around him that protected him from the flame! “Hey you!” a far off Poe shouted at Link, “Get back in your cell!” The Poe flew closer and took a closer look at Link, then grew pale, “I’m sorry Mr. Hero, I didn’t know it was you! We normally don’t get visitors, make yourself at home!” With that the Poe flew off in fright. Link looked in a nearby cell and saw Ganondorf! He was chained up and being tortured by Poes with all sorts of merciless tools for after death punishment. Suddenly a bunch of Poes bolted past Link shouting, “We’ve got a live one here!” All the Poes tackled Majora and struggled to put him I his cell; after a long fight and shoving Majora was locked up in his cell for an eternity! “CURSE YOU LINK!!! CURSE YOU SAGES!!! CURSE YOU ZELDA!!!”

Then Link woke up in his bed all sweaty, that was an interesting dream, but it was hot there. Link rubbed his legs, they hurt a bunch, but still Link got up. Navi was still asleep, so Link just crept by her on his way out. Link sat on the cliff top by the entrance of the new Lost Woods and gazed out at the lovely sunrise in the east. This was what being a hero was for, being able to relax and enjoy yourself, and to have everyone safe. But as Link walked back home, off in the woods a rumbling sound could be heard. Then from the treetops came three odd looking Stalfos! ”Hello Link,” greeted the big one, “I am the precedent king of the gorge of spirit horrors, the Ikana Canyon of the land of Termina. And with Ganondorf spent, my canyon is overflowing past the brim with all the army of Ganondorf! And I presently wanted to say… you can have it back!!!” Suddenly hundreds of Re-deads, Poes, and Stalfos came slowly out of the woods towards Link! Link looked around and knew that this would be a difficult fight, because his leg was still hurting. Link limped to his house and came out with his Kokiri sword and shield. Link looked at his backhand and realized that the Triforce had left his body! One of the Re-deads let out its shriek and sent Link’s body into a stall! The Re-dead slowly approached Link and let out a deep bellowing moan. But as the Re-dead jumped towards Link, the screams effects wore off and Link rolled out of way. Link cut off the Re-deads head and then crawled off back into his house. Link grabbed his bow and waited against the wall facing the door. Every time a Re-dead approached, Link shot it easily since they all entered through a small entrance. Link would shoot the Re-dead, then take the arrow out of its body; and shoot the next one with it. After killing around a hundred Re-deads, Link limped outside and looked around; no Re-deads were left. All Link had to get were the Poes and the Stalfos. Saria was down with all the monsters blasting them away with her Sage powers! She wondered what Link was doing in his house; she was getting exhausted fighting all these monsters! Link then jumped down with Saria and helped her out. A group of Poes all charged Link with their lanterns spinning like a top. Link cut up two of them, but the other three all smacked Link with their lanterns, putting cuts all over Links body! Saria blasted one and Link sliced the rest. Link then cut a Stalfos in half with a hard horizontal slice! Another Stalfos then stabbed Link in the leg with its sword! Link fell down to the ground and was kicked across the village by the king of Ikana Canyon. While Link was soaring through the air, the king pulled out a whip from his sleeve! The king’s guards tackled Saria and had her hands tied up along with her legs. Saria struggled to get free, but the ropes were too tight. The king uncurled his whip, and held his arm back for a strike. Saria closed her eyes as the whip flew closer to Link. Link helplessly laid on the ground in pain, was it over for him? The whip snapped across Link’s chest and let out a loud cracking noise doing so. Link screamed out in pain, but could do nothing to stop the pain from returning. Link cried out again and again as the whip made several trips across Link’s body. The king smiled with delight, he then grabbed Link by the hair and dragged him over to the nearest tree stump. He strapped a strange device onto Link’s back and waited. Suddenly all the Sages came in a burst of light! “Saria, what’s the matt-…” The Sages all looked around at the enemies surrounding them. And then saw Link on the tree trunk. “Ahhh; at last you have arrived,” the king hissed, “Now I may commence with the ignition!” The king lit the device that Link was strapped to and FWOSH!!! Link went flying up into the air far away from Hyrule, then KABOOM!!! The device burst into flame and smoke in midair! “NOOOO!!!” Saria screamed out, “LINK!!!” All the Sages stood there in shock, who was this man to do such a thing!? “J-j-just who are y-you!?” Zelda demanded. The sun fell from the sky and was replaced with the bright moon as the king gave Zelda a piercing gaze and told her with his blue tongue flopping about in his mouth, “I am King Ikana of the Ikana Canyon.” Rauru shouted out at ‘King Ikana’, “Don’t try to fool me with your lies, king Ikana is forbidden to leave Termina without permission from the Sages. And none of us have granted King Ikana passage to Hyrule!” The king looked down and smiled with a frightening grin. “You asked for it!” The king then folded inside out, exposing all his marrow, blood veins, and his tissue! The king then started to compact into a small ball of innards. The ball fell to the ground and sloshed into a puddle of blood and bones. All the Sages looked in disgust as the puddle swirled up into the air and took shape of a person. A big stream of intense light flooded the Kokiri Forest! And when the light died down, there stood an odd looking man with a staff and the moon showering him with light. He looked at all the Sages and in a harsh voice told them, “I’m back; say hello to the new, improved; MAJORA!” The Sages jumped back in shock; Rauru asked covered in sweat, “H-how could it be?” Majora put on his mask and replied, “Did you really think that a bonfire would spell the end to the greatest tool of evil on the planet? Well you were terribly wrong about my mask, as long as it stands… I stand! And this body is much more strapping than my last one I think.” Majora then folded up in his cape and disappeared into the fresh night. All the Sages looked around at the Poes and Stalfos, the Sages quickly grabbed Saria and beamed out of Kokiri forest with a snap. All the Kokiri children ran into the Lost Woods and hid from the enemies in their village.

All the Sages had a discussion about Majora and what had to be done. Rauru spoke first, “It appears that Majora no longer can make himself an army, but he only has a few hundred Stalfos and Poes with him. So taking out his small band of troops will be the king’s job, and we must figure out a way to get rid of Majora and his mask once and for all!” All the Sages expressed their ideas and the chance of it succeeding against Majora. It soon started into arguments and shouting. The Sages were all so worried about Majora that they forgot to mind their tempers towards each other. Saria exited the group and looked out across the field of Hyrule. She cried out in tears, “Link, I need you. Please don’t be gone; we all need you.” Zelda came out and put her hand on Saria’s shoulder. “Don’t worry, you know how Link always finds a way with luck. I’m sure he’s alive; he’s probably thinking of you right now wherever he is.”

Majora looked at his map, he was sure that Link would’ve landed around his location. Majora looked around, no body, only rocket bits and pieces; along with endless sand. “Blast it! Something else got to Link’s carcass first! Darn it! I really wanted to mount him on my wall! Screw it! After all my troubles, I don’t get his body! !*!@# it!” Majora then flew off towards Hyrule; maybe one of Link’s friends had his body. Saria paced around and decided that she should at least try to find Link! She snapped her fingers and flew off in a ball of green light. After traveling for an hour, Saria stopped and found the rocket debris. “Oh-no! Majora must have gotten him!” Suddenly Saria picked up a weak voice coming from behind her. She looked back and saw a boulder with deep mud all around it. She looked around and found… Link! He was lying in the mud on his back all covered in blood and dirt; he had a life saving thing going with mud. Saria came up to Link but Link shook his head and wearily told Saria, “It hurts to move. But about an hour ago or so, Majora came by looking for me. But this rock hid me in its shade and kept me hidden.” “How did you get in this mud if you can’t move without pain?” Link weakly chuckled and explained to Saria, “Did you know that people can be pretty bouncy when dropped from high enough? Well… I actually made contact with the ground about a mile from here. But I bounced and rolled into this mud here eventually! But every second of bouncing and rolling, I could hear snapping and crunching going on inside my body. And I think that my skull is broken, it even hurts to think too much.” Saria gave Link a big kiss and held his hand. She knew Link wouldn’t last long out in the open. Saria held both of Link’s hands and FLASH they were both in Hyrule field. Saria took a deep breath and sat down, transportation by spirit was tiring for a young Sage such as her. After taking a rest, Saria gently pulled Link across the field and to the castle.

Link woke up and looked at where he was, he saw all the Sages and a doctor standing by his bed. He also noticed the needles and tubes in his body. One tube was coming out of his lower chest, and the other came out of his upper leg. Needles were on his arms, legs, and his chest. Link felt a little embarrassed, he the great Hero of Time was lying next to the great Sages of Hyrule in his boxers [And they were boxers with red crosses on them too!] with needles all over his body. A nurse came in with Link’s tunic and told him, “You have some fine-quality clothes Link; every thread in every piece of all your clothing was stained with blood. But it all washed out like wet mud. I see you forest folk wear good clothing.” The nurse sat Link’s clothes down on a nearby table and left. Link asked Rauru, “How long will I be here?” Rauru looked down at Link and replied softly, “Around two months Link.” Link stiffened up, two months in a hospital! He hoped that soon he would at least get some clothes to wear. Saria sat down next to Link on his bed and told him, “We’re all staying here to keep you safe from Majora; we’ve found out that he’s weakened and can’t make new men for an army. Plus, I want to stay with you.” Ruto tapped Saria on the shoulder and told her, “We’ll just ummm, wait outside in the lobby Saria.” All the Sages then left the room except for Nabooru; she told Link and Saria, “I’ve found out that Majora is using my fortress as a hiding place. He now fears mortal man and his blade.” She then left the room. Saria leaned closer to Link and told him while growing blush, “Link, I care for you more than anybody I’ve met and I ever will meet. But you have almost died a few times these last few months. And I don’t want you to go without knowing that I …love you. And I just wanted to know, am I just kidding myself with the Hero of Time, or do you really care about me?” Link’s heart skipped a beat, or two, or twenty. He put his hand over Saria’s and replied, “Have you been taking love advice from Nabooru? Because the only boy she knew was Ganondorf. But yes, I care about you. I’d fight a dragon with a Deku Stick for you. In fact, I remember how I would play dragon-slayer with you a year ago, after I became Hero of Time. We’d play in the Lost Woods for so long that our trip into the forest usually turned into camping trips! But Saria, why did you ask me if I love you?” Saria was really blushing now, “Well… I wondered if you treated me nice just because I was a Sage, or because that you needed me to seal away Majora and Ganondorf. But I also thought ‘why would a handsome Hylian hero care for a Kokiri child of the forest such as me’? And to finish, Nabooru kinda gave me some… ‘Advice’.” Link a little embarrassed now, he was only 11! Talking about love, and his best friend was sitting next to him while he was in his underwear! “Saria, you are not just a Kokiri, you are also a Sage, and the best girl I have ever met. You are kind, and you care for people. And this ‘handsome Hylian hero’ happens to like that in you. To sum it up… I love you too!” Saria gave Link a big kiss and told him, “When you went off on the device Majora strapped you onto, I saw our entire childhood of us together flash before my eyes. And when you were being whipped, it hurt to hear you in pain.” Saria was now all teary-eyed, she gave Link a hug and they both went to sleep. All the Sages then came in and saw them both sleeping together. They all awed then Ruto said, “To bad Saria will stuck physically or outwardlookingly as a 10-year-old forever.” “Yes that is true,” Rauru said, “But I think a child as a Sage can keep all us old-timers in a good mood, it’s just the touch of a child.” Ruto interrupted, “Excuse me? Old? You are the one who helped build one of the oldest structures in Hyrule! What are you, 1,000 years old?” “No, I’m 1,182 years old.” Rauru corrected with a smile.

Majora walked around the Gerudo fortress with only one thought on his mind, revenge! His powers were weakened greatly and he only had a few hundred men on his side. But on the bright side, Link was dead or at least injured terribly. Majora then climbed over the fortress fence and walked out into Hyrule field. Link was out of his way; the time to fight was now! Majora let out a shriek and a weird rattling noise from his mask. Then hundreds of Poes and Stalfos came from the ground with their weapons drawn and a look of glee on their faces. “Let’s finish this, once and for all!” Majora then pointed at the ground and in a cloud of dust and dirt, Volvagia came from the ground! Volvagia coiled around Majora and waited for his command. Majora stroked Volvagia’s massive skull and whispered into Volvagia’s ear, “Bring Link to me; alive.” Volvagia flew off towards Hyrule marketplace with top speed. He’s been killed twice by Link, now was his time for payback.

Link woke up, but Saria was still sleeping. Link decided not to spoil this great moment, so he went back to sleep. All the Sages but Zelda were asleep also, Zelda looked out the window at Hyrule field. Far off in the distance, she could make out some people standing there near the Gerudo Valley. Suddenly a huge burst of flame shot in the air from the town center! Then out of the flame came Volvagia the dragon! Zelda woke up all the Sages except Saria; they should have their moment. All the Sages then ran out of the hospital and out to the market place. Volvagia ignored the Sages and continued searching around the town. The Sages started shooting Volvagia with their Sage energy blasts! Volvagia took a lot of damage from the Sages, but ignored them and still looked around. “”I think he’s trying to find Link!” Zelda cried out to the Sages. Volvagia then looked into the hospital windows and let out a victorious howl. The Sages ran to the hospital while still shooting at the dragon. Volvagia crashed his head into the hospital walls and came out with Link and Saria in his jaw! “LINK! SARIA!” Ruto cried out. Darunia scaled the hospital wall with tremendous speed and lept onto Volvagia. He then let looses a fury of Goron Slams and punches with all his might! Volvagia lost control and crashed into the Hyrule front gate, reducing the entire wall to rubble! Saria rolled out of Volvagia’s mouth with bloody gashes in her chest and back. Darunia pulled Link out of Volvagia’s mouth and examined him. Link had more scratches, and some needles were still in his body, and his chest was burnt a tad. Darunia smashed Volvagia in the head with a punch so hard that Volvagia’s body flew over the castle! But Volvagia came back and blew Darunia back with his fiery breath! Volvagia then grabbed Link and flew off to Gerudo Fortress with his prize. Saria got up but fell down again; Volvagia punctured Saria’s side badly. Plus, dragon saliva was painfully toxic. Darunia picked up Saria and took her to the hospital. All the Sages then marched out to Gerudo Fortress to get Link back. But along the way, Rauru realized something. Tomorrow was the Day of Evil! The day where all the evil in Hyrule would be under the control of one dark man, Majora! This day only happened once in every thousand years, that is why Majora waited to come back! The Sages all used spirit travel and flew off to Link’s rescue.

Majora glared down upon Link while circling him. Link was so weak that he could barely speak, walk, or move at all. Majora pounded his fist into the dirt and pulled it out with a fistful of worms. “You know what tomorrow is Link?” Link slowly nodded yes to Majora. Majora held up a single worm and waved it in the air with his hand, “Well, when all the evil is at my command for one day, you’re going to meet your golden makers, you maggot!” A bird swooped from the air and nabbed the worm from Majora’s fist. Majora waved his now empty fist in front of Link and let out a wicked laugh of victory. “You know something about evil Link? It’s that we never give up; we may crumble or such, but we fight in dreary situations like… you! And with you gone, dead, away. Nothing will stop me from universal conquest! Nothing at all!” Majora then pulled a lever on the rock wall, which sealed off the exit. “Your friends will never find you here, in the mountain. So why don’t you just give up and surrender your power to luck. You heard me, power to luck. You see, a woman who was injured from the last Great War, ran to the Deku Tree with her only child. Upon the child, the mother casted a gift of luck to keep her child safe. It only worked every once in a while for you. But if you give me the power of better luck, I will spare your girlfriend; she will live free, in a world controlled by the awesome Majora!” Link scoffed and turned his head away from Majora. Majora picked Link up, and ripped a huge piece of skin right off of Link’s foot! Blood dripped from the wound, but Majora had no mercy towards Link; he picked up a jar of slightly wet salt, and poured it all over Link’s wound! Link let out a yell of immense pain that brought a joyous smile to Majora’s face. Majora then grabbed Link’s head and dragged him to a furnace. Majora pulled off a heated bar from the furnace, grabbed Link’s tongue, and pressed it against the boiling rod! Link jumped back from Majora’s grip and let his spit cool off his tongue. Now he couldn’t speak at all, Majora had burnt his lips and tongue both! Majora let out a mocking laugh and exited the room; he had to take care of the Sages.

Majora looked around and found them, he jumped from the mountain top down below a thousand feet. He landed with ease right in front of the Sages! “It’s very touching, you all coming to his rescue. But you see, you’ll never find him! Because, a young boy’s body will very hard to find at the bottom of Lake Hylia.” Rauru let out a laugh, “You’re pretty bad at lying Majora! I know you have Link alive in that mountain somewhere! How did I know? You left your Majora Mask flag by your door.” Majora slapped his head; this wasn’t the way he wanted it to go. The Sages were too powerful for him at the moment. So Majora just decided to go with his plan “B”. Majora pulled a box with a button on it out of his cape. “This is called a detonator, it’s a bad thing, and it causes things to blow up! Such as the room Link is in now!” The Sages leaned back in fright. “If I push this button like this, BEEP then you can say…” Suddenly out of the flames of the explosion, Link came flying out of Majora’s hideout, and landed in Darunia’s arms! Majora slapped himself again; he knew he should’ve put Link in a place farther away from the entrance. He then nervously looked around at all the Sages; and bolted out of Gerudo Valley as fast as he could! But Nabooru tackled him and sent him crashing down into the dust. Majora then took a serious beating. BAM!!! POW!!! WHACK!!! Majora went flying into the valley’s walls of stone with a tremendous force! Rocks fell from above and covered Nabooru and Majora! Nabooru popped out unhurt, but Majora staggered out and drew out his sword. Majora had a bloodied up face, hurt leg, and a bruise on his arm. Darunia grabbed Majora’s sword by the blade and snapped it between his pinkies. And punched Majora so hard that he flew across Hyrule field and out of the kingdom. “Whoops, oh well, he’ll be back again sooner or later. But man alive, he’s just a wimp now! My son puts up a better fight than that bozo! Oh yeah, I grabbed his mask; now lets destroy it and have some lunch.” The Sages spirited away to Hyrule town and took care of Link at the hospital. They all then went into the Temple of Time and held Majora’s mask before the Triforce. The Triforce shinned brighter and with a burst of golden beams, the mask was forever gone!

Somewhere off in the land of Termina, Majora was walking back to Hyrule across the field. Suddenly, Majora felt an odd pain in his head. Majora realize his predicament; his mask was destroyed! Majora staggered along a bit, he grew dizzy and weak, then he fell down in the grass. He vomited blood and his body started to melt to mush! He lost feeling in all his body as it squirted blood like a pressurized fountain. Majora slowly was devoured alive by a group of Kesee that were flying over him when he was struck down.

All the Sages went to the hospital to celebrate their long fought for victory. But they came into Link’s room, Link was distraught and nervous. “Zelda, what month is it?” Link asked from his bed. “Uhh, I believe September.” Zelda answered. Link started shaking and told all the Sages, “I remember something that a man in robes of green spoke to me all of the sudden. He said to me before the war, ‘A Hero leaves his fellow men, and returns then fights Amen; may it mark dark emperor’s day the last, then he fights evil of a year past; the sky rain red flame, for a boy on a quest to be a hero again. The man with the face, will live thrice; but though shan’t remember, till thee are at death’s door come end of September’. Then he told me a while ago, after I defeated Majora in his tower, ‘A Hero returns from his quest, the entire kingdom is now at rest; gone is the evil from this land, for it was vanquished by the mighty band; with the Hero- power of two and the princess- power of one, they both traded in desolation for a beautiful rising sun; the Hero and his loved ones are here, for the Hero of Hyrule let’s all give a cheer! But the troubles are not yet over son, you will see a king from a land outside of this one. You will strike down your foe with the face, but he will return after his tool is erased; but go out and party for now, evil will come when least expected and that is my solemn vow.’’’ Link’s eyes widened, “That man has been right all this time! And if he is correct, then Majora will be back one more time!” Rauru explained to Link, “Link, I think that man was the traveling prophet. People don’t usually remember what he says until later when they feel that they knew about this earlier. But he is never wrong, we are even old friends. But I will bet my life on it; Majora will return on the Day of Evil, tomorrow!” Link asked Rauru, “How can Majora harness all evil without his mask? Isn’t it his only way to harness his powers to his full potential?” Zelda butted in, “Majora the Shaman of Evil of the land Termina, died hundreds of years ago. But before his death, he put a terrible curse on his tribe. He put upon them, the curse of the desire to steal, cheat, and covet. The tribe then called out to their spirits to avenge their curse. The spirits of Termina put an even greater curse upon Majora for his wicked ways; they casted his soul, into his mask, along with his strong magic. After suffering from the curse for many years, the tribe decided to leave Termina, but along the way they robbed and destroyed anyone who came across their path. The curse had driven them to even plunder each other of their treasure. The wandering tribe then settled in a valley in Hyrule next to the desert. They became known as the Gerudonix. But their greed for wealth destroyed them within a few years of settling in by the desert. A hundred years later, the Wanted Clan, a group of wanted women, settled in the desert as the most wanted women in Hyrule. But upon entering the valley, they found a structure of a hundred years age. In the structure they found some books and notes of thievery that were written by the Gerudonix. The Wanted Clan learned lots of new things from the books. They then became know as the Gerudos; and the valley became known as the Gerudo Valley. And Majora’s tie to the Gerudos allowed him to be safe while he was of mortal blood when you destroyed him in his tower! And that’s where he will be when he comes back!” All people within hearing distance of Zelda stood there with their jaws dropped. She knew her facts well; of course, she was the Sage of Wisdom! “So, Majora; will be coming this way in less than a day.” Zelda finished off with a sad tone. “But you can’t leave the hospital.” Link mumbled to himself with a grumble. “What was that?” asked Saria. “Well… you guys healed me before, why not now?” Darunia answered with a chuckle, “We can only do that every once and a while, but we can’t now. Sorry brother.” Link, taunted by an old memory, then rolled away from all the Sages, and quieted down. “What’s wrong brother?” Darunia asked Link with a raised eyebrow. “N-nothing.” Link sniffled out. I’m alright.” All the Sages but Zelda left the room. Zelda told Link with a voice that trailed on through Link’s mind, “You miss your mother don’t you, but she is gone. I don’t know why you think of her in these previous events, but you can’t see her again, I’m sorry Link.” Link tried to forget those cold words, but he accepted it as the truth. His mother was gone, and if Majora took over; what kind of a son would he be!? Link then trailed of to sleep with his heart heavily pounding. He missed her, missed her bad. Link closed his eyes and dreamt of the past, when he was nine years old…

“You better run faster Link, cause I’m right behind you!” Saria giggled as she raced behind Link. Link was straining to stay ahead, but Saria was the best runner in the forest. Back then, Saria and Link didn’t really know each other that much. This is one reason why. Link ran, and ran as hard as he could. But his legs gave way to him, and he went crashing down to the ground right into a tree stump! Saria saw what happened and skidded right to a stop. Link got up and rubbed his forehead and cried out, “Oww, man that smarts!” His forehead had a big slice across it! Saria blushed and softly apologized, “Oh- I’m sorry Link I didn’t mean for you to get hurt. Here umm… stay here for a sec.” Saria dashed to her house and rushed out with some bandages. She carefully applied the bandages to Link’s cut. While she was at it, she asked Link something, “Say Link, why don’t I ever see you? It’s like your always hiding or something, but any way, I was wondering if you could come to my party tonight. Because, I’ve never seen you at any of my parties; I sure would like it if you could come to this one Link. Kinda funny though, this is the only time I see you often, but to bad you had to get hurt.” Saria tightened the bandage, and helped Link get up. Link grew red as Saria held his hand; Link backed up and then ran off to his house. Saria walked home and got ready for the party. Link sat down on his bed panting. He had a crush on Saria, and was shy around her. That’s why she never sees him when she looks for him. And he felt pretty silly for running off when Saria called his name. He was always thinking about her, but he had no idea whatsoever what she was like; since he’s always running away from her. Link decided to go to Saria’s party and get to know her a little. Link hopped in his bed and laid there in thought, it was his chance to meet Saria. But if Mido ever found out that he liked Saria, Mido would give a black eye to him. And Link didn’t want any more pain than this wound on his head. Link decided to risk Mido and changed for the party. Link also tore off the bandage put some potion on his cut to heal the bleeding. Link got all ready and waited for the party; nightfall was the time at the moment. Link walked over to Saria’s house and waited for the party; but as he was waiting, Mido came up to Link. Mido told Link with a balled-up fist, “A weirdo like you ain’t coming to the party; or else you get a fist in the face.” Link nodded his head in agreement with the bully, and ran back to his house. Link climbed up his ladder as fast as he could, and when he got inside, he sat down on his bed. He then laid down and closed his eyes, the sounds of a just starting party buzzed around his head as he slept. Link woke up the next morning feeling awful. He knew Saria expected him to come to her party, and it was his chance to see her. But Mido wasn’t afraid to harm Link. Then someone called out to Link, “Hey Link! Come on down!” It was Saria! She was probably mad at him for not showing last night! Link hesitantly climbed down the ladder and apologized to Saria right away, “I’m sorry Saria, but something got in the way last night.” Saria giggled and told Link, “It’s all right Link, I heard about Mido threatening you. It’s just; he thinks you aren’t one of us. But I know you’re better than he rest of us. I bet you will be the one who leaves the forest. But whatever Mido says doesn’t matter. I wish you could’ve come last night though; it was fun. But the twins are having a small party at their house today also; I’ll come over and take you there when it starts. That way Mido won’t bother you.” Saria then walked off to her house and Link then climbed up his ladder. “Wow.” Link muttered to himself, “Saria is inviting me to parties and helping me with Mido. I wish she liked me though, but I’ve seen her at Ben’s house. Lucky Ben, but I guess it’s because I’m always hiding from her, so I missed it.” Link didn’t find out till a few months later, that Ben and Saria were just plain friends. A few hours later, Saria came into Link’s house and told him, “Let’s go.” Link and Saria ran to the twin’s house through the grass, racing to see who could there first. Of course, Saria won and they both went in to the party. Link went over to Ben, Zak, and Fado; the know-it-all brothers. Saria went over to the twins, known as One and Two. Link and the K.I.A. [Know-it-alls] started a game of 21. But as soon as they started, the entire forest wanted to be dealt in. Link dealt everyone a hand and the biggest game of 21 in Kokiri history began! Link won game after game, followed by Two and Zak. After a few dozen games, it all came down to the three. Link looked at his hand, he had a 7 and a 3, no duh, he took a hit and received a 6! Darn it, everybody else probably had more than 16, so he took a risk and asked for another card. He received a 5! Link held it in until everyone else had finished. Two put down her cards and yelled, “18!” Zak yelled out, “20!” Link smiled and stated, “21!” The Kokiris let out a cheer for Link, he was the luckiest kid when it came to 21. Zak growled, he put a card out on the table and told everyone, “Loser gets the card, whatever it says, you have to do. Or they get the Yardner Treatment!” Every looked at the card, the Yardner Treatment was a job where that person had to trim all the grass in the village! Link smiled, and sat next to Saria. This was it, the final card game of the night. Everyone looked at their hand and took hits or stayed, the room was full of competition. Link caught a glimpse of Saria’s hand and saw that she had 17. Link secretly gave Saria a 4 and told her, “Don’t tell anyone.” Link now had 17, he took a hit and got a 3. Zak called out, “21!” One, “18!” Two, “19!” Ben, “19!” Fado, “20!” Mido, “18!” Saria looked at link and called, “21!” Link called out, “20!” Zak and Saria then played a tiebreaker, in the end; it was Saria with 20, Zak with 19. Saria had won! But who had lost? Mido and One played a loser tiebreaker; Mido 19, One 17. One picked up the card in the middle of the group and read it out loud, “Unlucky person who bears this card, you must clean the roof of every house in the village!” One groaned, but the roof work would be done tomorrow, because the party was still going. Saria told Link in appreciation, “Thanks Link. I would’ve lost if you didn’t give me one of your cards. So… thanks.” Saria and Link enjoyed the rest of the party for the rest of the day until it was time to go home. Link thanked Saria for taking him there, and Saria thanked Link for the card once again. They both said goodnight and went into their homes for a nights rest.

Link woke up, that dream had a lot of sleeping in it. Saria then came into the room. It was still dark outside, maybe midnight. Saria told Link with a smile, “I just had the best dream Link, it was about us when we were-“ “-Nine?” Link butted in. “I know, I had it to.” Saria hugged Link, “Link, that’s the way life should be. Card games, racing, partying, and fun! But that dream represented something more.” They both said in unison, “The way we met each other as kids!” Zelda came in and told them, “It was no dream, and it was a flashback, a reality. That’s why it was so real for you both. I gave you two that dream. I wanted you two to remember how you first grew interested with each other. That was the best way to do it!” Zelda then left, but before she shut the door she reminded Link, “The Day of Evil starts soon.” Link nodded and went back to sleep, along with Saria. But it didn’t last long, for in a few hours, the Day of Evil began.
