The Legend of Zelda, released in 1986, was Miyamoto's first Zelda game, and the start of one of the greatest series of games. Not only was The Legend Of Zelda the first NES RPG, but it was one that caught gamers by surprise. The storyline is as follows: Zelda hid the Triforce Of Wisdom from Gannon, and Gannon imprisons her in Death Mountain. Link's Quest is to save Zelda, collect the pieces of the Triforce Of Wisdom and defeat Gannon. Even though the graphics are plain and simple looking for by today's standards, back in the day it came out, Legend Of Zelda had some of the best graphics ever. Graphics however was not why so many people enjoyed the game. Gameplay was the reason. Going on a quest in dungeons to collect Triforce pieces and searching for secret weapons was what got gamers into the game. Legend Of Zelda, was the first to use the 3/4 overhead view,  so you could see more than just the head. Plus, mini games and side quests were added to the mix.. All of these factors contributed to making this game such a success.
